After reading the comments in this thread, I've decided to sell anything with milkspots at a super cheap price, assuming anyone is interested. A quick update on progress as I look through miscellaneous 1oz rounds: * Zombucks are particulary bad for milkspots. I have many that have spotted going back to the original release. * Some Slave Queens have spotted * One Keiser Ethical round has unethical spots Still quite a few to go.
Some people like the milk spots. I've heard of people paying extra for toning / milk spots. Some like myself don't really like them......but some do!
Here's the haul so far. Some spots are small, some are big. Very annoying. (Ignore the copper, that's just some with blemishes.)
I'm with you SilverPete, This is annoying I've had a similar situation found so many coins from different mints milk spotted. What a joke.
Why don't you save it for the monthly Sydneystacker meet. Sure your fellow stackers would appreciate a bargain.
I really don't care about milk spots, Silver is Silver, when I have the chance to buy used Silver coins privately I'll often select the ones with milk spots anyway because I know they must be legit coins, don't know of anyone producing fake coins with fake milk spots.
Not good to keep silver coins near cardboard or paper, it contains sulphur which leads to toning (or tarnishing). It doesn't affect milkspots though that I am aware of. https://assayofficebirmingham.com/tarnish_labexpert Jim
Toning can be a desirable feature (rainbow toned Morgans are a good example), but I've never heard of anybody who has any use for milk spots. Who have you heard advocating for or championing milk spots? I don't think I've seen one post doing that here or anyplace else I can remember. If anybody here @ SS pays extra for milk spots, please send me a PM. I've got a few old tubes of CSM's that you're gonna just love and they're available at a reasonable premium.
