4 peace dollars, a Morgan and 3 crowns.. 25 bucks each... I couldn't say no! I'm picking up some gold later today, something a bit different...
I had hoped to make a trip to my lcs but hes closed till the 15th "to prepare for the holidays" whatever that means haha. I went ahead and ordered a 20g gold volcambi in assay and a 5g secondary gold bar from apmex. I always enjoy going to the lcs and it sucks hes closed but apmex is fair and easy to order from. I have 100:1 silver to gold so figured I'd just get the gold this time. It's amazing how they are out of so much stock but I'm never very picky since I'm just a stacker anyway. Gold is gold is gold to me and the less premium the better. Then an hour after I placed the order for the gold my son texted me that he was going through his stack to see what he wanted to keep or sell. He and his wife need cash for a greenhouse they are building. We had talked about it a month ago and I said I would buy whatever he needed to sell. Id rather keep it in the family so it goes from his stack to mine and I'll pay him more than the lcs would and cash in hand. Keep it in the family, dont let it leave once it's in the family. Tomorrow I might go over there and see what all he has but problem is I already ordered gold haha. I might need to buy some of his just to help him out and I wasnt planning on it but cash sitting around isnt doing any good for me right now so I might as well. He is my son after all! Dang kids.
I ended up buying 120 ounces yesterday from my sons stack. He needed to raise quick cash and I offered him $25 per ounce which was $1+ over spot yesterday. Ended up with a nice assortment, some engelhard bars, a couple silver eagles, tubes of generics, a little junk silver, some collector type one off rounds, two pandas and various size bars, one ouncers, a four and some tens. One thing I can say as a father, I was impressed with his stack and I was very proud of him for saving all that. He said he didnt want to sell anymore but that it was the fastest way to raise cash and at least it stays in the family and I agreed. It was a good trade and this way he doesnt need to owe anyone or feel that he does. He was cost averaged down pretty well from the last few years of cheap prices so I feel like he made out fine and got all his cash back plus some and I was happy to have some cash on the side. He wouldnt sell me any of the stuff from his "keep" stack hehe. Not for $25 anyway! Now I need more ammo cans to put it in and room in my safe haha. Be your own bank!
If your going to keep your stack at home it's wise to never tell anyone, even here in case your identity/address is ever discovered thru trade or whatever.
Unfortunately I lost it all along with my guns in a boating accident today hehe.... I'm not worried and no info online for me. I feel pretty safe here and its hidden well so it wouldnt be found. I feel its safer than at any safe deposit or any vault. It's the safe of all safes. No one I know has a clue except my kids, my wife and mom. Most people think you are insane to buy gold or silver so it's not some thing I share anyway with anyone and no reason to. I only share things here with you people and staying anonymous is fine with me. Even my lcs is 2 hours away and over the mountains although hes a guy I'd trust. Of course he knows what I've bought off from him anyway haha. Other than the few in my family and some dudes in australia and on islands I cant spell, I'm just another guy working his life away. I do usually have a small amount around until I get enough to pack away and it makes me nervous just to have that. No way would i keep a large volume in easy reach. The bottom of the lake is probably the safest place I've found so far
Bought a little nugget and a new hand made Jarrha wood display box to house them all in, nice wall hanger
Picked up one of these at a garage sale this morning: 1935 .925 Silver Jubilee Medallion Stet Fortuna Domus George & Mary
My son called yesterday from the lcs and he had a large supply in stock. I asked if he had any silver dollars and my son said he already bought them (grrr). I ended up getting two 10 oz silver bars. One American flag bar and another says "strategic stockpile stored at assay office" or something like that with a serial number. $26 an oz is a little on the high side for me right now but I just couldnt resist. My son got some bullion to flip and a few nice silver dollars and a Carson City or two suprisingly. Those were a whopping $25 each! He wouldnt sell me those haha. I've been into bars more for some reason lately. I'm not sure why. I never really wanted bars before very often.
2020 ASE - S Proof arrived in the mail today. I Thought I may as well grab one of the last 2020 "original style" ASE's before they change over to the new version. Of course, now, it appears that they'll be keeping the current style until the middle of next year before updating. "The U.S. Mint plans to release the redesigned 2021 American Silver Eagle in "summer 2021" according to their press release ("United States Mint Unveils New American Eagle Gold and Silver Coin Reverse Designs"). This means that some versions of Silver Eagles will be made with both designs."
I had a birthday yesterday. And by coincidence complete my Queen's Beasts gold collection https://www.instagram.com/p/CG9J32qqFtm/?igshid=7js0cocj8ayi Do not know how to attach this video here((
