Can't speak for others, but I need to lock mine in early before viewing other peoples trades. . Not sure it would make much difference with my selection anyway.
Game ON! Too bad if GFC 2: "The NWO End Game" surprises us in the next 15 weeks! should have bought PMs Its a working strategy..
Leaderboard is based on the bid price after weekend trading each week. Lucky your not paying brokerage too.
Rule 10 - It nearly bit me in the ass too when trawling the 0.001c stocks - I had to reassess my picks when I saw the damage this can do.
and... RANKING: Your weekly ranking in this competition is based on the bid price of your three current stocks plus the cash component of your portfolio (10% max.) once the weekend trading period is closed.
Yep, bid/ask can be a killer like that, either going to work out really well or really badly for me. Would never buy this portfolio in real life.
Is this an effective strategy in real life? Do people ride stocks like Motopia from 0.001 to 000.2 for 100% profit and sell again to buy back at 0.001? I would assume the volume to find a buyer at 0.002 would be non existent
Very hard in real life. For that MTB stock i have in my portfolio the volume at .001 is only worth $100. Add $20 brokerage, and your order at .002 goes behind all others already in at .002, so its usually very hard to make money doing this. And the thanks for the above post is my fat-fingered attemp at pressing quote
I've assumed dividends are not counted in the game as there were no rules mentioning dividends Lots of stocks going ex div in the next few weeks
Yep. I used to regularly trade in and out of a stock called Hydromet. It bounced like clockwork between 4 and 5c, so every trade was worth 25% profit. Made $1000's on this one.
It was mentioned in the EOI thread .... http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-640144.html#p640144 I am assuming this still holds, or the whole strategy changes for me.
