Yay, I got the typeset . Gave up on the Perth Mint website, crashed as soon as they came online about 8.30am (Perth Time), rang them up instead and was on hold for about 40 minutes, was surprised they still had any left. Ordered the Coloured Proofs from Talisman coins early this morning before they ran out.
Perth Mint sucks hard, 3 hr's trying on there web site, only starts working when they run out of stock.
If you can get on line while being on hold (that's what I did. Phone came through 1st) you might have a better chance because website seems to be going a bit better now. Typeset sold out but colored proof available Didn't see if gilded online because wanted to get out of there quickly to free it up for others
I have had a typeset in my cart for about 2.5 hours and now it works but cant buy it cos they are sold out
Set alarm for 1:30am, rushed online to the Perth Mint website, spent 2 hours trying to login, funally added a typeset to my basket. Spent ages going through delivery to payment, the got an "exceeded allocation" message  So... ... in desperation I thought I was buying a 1 oz coloured proof but in fact ended up buying a 1 oz gilded and 1/2 oz coloured proof. That'll teach me not to do this kinda thing at 2am! And finally I got the coin I really wanted - the 1oz coloured proof Now I have some idea of the frenzy people got into over tulips, south sea companies and Mississippi swamps Hope you guys had luck.
Hi guys, I just called PM and managed to place an order for the typeset! The number to call is 1800 098 817
Well the typeset I got from the lining up at the mint this morning just went on ebay considering it is all sold out thought I would be the first to try and cash in on the mania
Don't discount your local aus post office (for those in Oz) - I scroofs couple of proofs at one last week and they mentioned the next thing out is a four coin set, and did I want to order one? Aus post had 50 proofs to share across all stores in WA so typeset allocation will no doubt be less, but worth a shot..... -noa
After the typset has gone, the site works fine for coloured proofs and gilded. Seems that they both wont be as interesting as the regular proofs and the typset. This morning our big dealer in germany will also start sellinf the typset. The last time ( proofs ) he sold at minimum 300 3-coin sets at a fair price without limit per customer. Sold out within 1-2 hours. I think this time he will sell same amount of typsets, but i think not on a price near PM issue price. He could do more profit if he news the secondary market price before start selling. Well see and i report informations.
I think they are still available because of the severe purchasing limits placed on them. Eg 1 per customer for the coloured proof
