The first h/r coin larger than 1 oz right?!

    Yeah, the first! :)

But Perth has lots of first's - like...the first HR Dragon coin and the first standard dragon coin with privy mark and the first 5oz koala proof and coming up - the first 5oz coloured Koala bullion coin and the first 5oz coloured Kookaburra bullion coin and the first 5oz coloured Kangaroo bullion coin and... :D :D :D

    Cheers

Yeah, I kind of draw the line at color.

It takes away from the shiny silver.

but if I did own a colored coin, it would be the dragon. maybe even the gemstone eye if the ruby premium came down lol
perhaps a double diamond gem eye dragon? its not too late right! :D

the opal kangaroo is the only 1 with potential upside. It would still be worth getting one to see what the market does. The original opal koala is getting between $180-$220 now and interest is growing in it. If you have the koala, than the attraction of completing the entire set will grow for collectors that start late. Being the first of its kind it appears to be the best coin with any upside potential. The wombat isn't currently achieving more than issue price, but as the series progresses opportunity will grow

hasn't it dropped. The dragon of welsh is the only performer and sells for between $100-$135. No upside there. It seems the coloured coins have been done to death

I agree and i think the only reason the wombat is not as popular is because it is not as iconic a australian animal as the koala and soon to be released kangaroo.

So which one out of these do you think will have potential in addition to the Kangaroo?

Australian Opal Series: Pygmy Possum - Silver Proof Coin

Australian Opal Series: Masked Owl - Silver Proof Coin

Australian Opal Series: Tasmanian Devil - Silver Proof Coin

100% my sentiment. The wombat was never going to go off. The kangaroo was a smarter choice to revitalise the series. From what Ive heard it has been selling pretty quick
as resales have been getting over $130 which is already a better start than the wombat. The wombat may make a gain on the back of the kangaroos popularity.

I agree, wombat might go up on the backs of set collectors

This series often reminds me of the Treasures of Australia series. Something new and unique, worth collecting as it's different.

Getting a couple of each could never hurt, it is a unique coin program. The standard coloured metals have lost their mojo, so picking a winner is much harder. This set was always going to have potential as it was a first of its kind and the koala was a great starter coin. Popularity can be hard to gauge however I would suggest the Tasmanian devil as it is an iconic Australian carnivore and last in the series. The endangered series always comes to mind. The devil didn't take off but the tiger did. The eagle and devil have held their value though. I always consider first and last in a coin series. The masked owl should get some interest as a design that hasn't been done to death in other coin programs. The predators should do ok.

Can source them off site sponsors and better than issue price also.
