Why is that everyone seems to hate Silver? Everytime I tell my mum I bought some more or a package is arriving she gets a little mad and keeps rambling on about wasting my money. Ive shown her the huge increases in price via a graph which any person should get the jist of (up is...up!) and she seems supportive enough but then its like she forgets she ever saw it and gets mad again later. Ive mentioned Silver to I dunno maybe 10 or so people and only 1 ever decided to start stacking. The others weren't exactly dismissive about it but they just made excuses as to why they couldn't afford to buy any or just didn't say much at all. So what are your parents like about your stacking. Are they supportive or not? Any classic conversations you'd like to share
my old man said its a great idea he said i should have bought more gold earlier & he was shocked to hear how cheap silver was .He actually said its one of the smarter things ive done hahahaha

Why do you think she gets mad? Is it mad at the silver or if you bought anything? Do you pay rent at home or do you live off their income? How about food? What is your financial contribution to the day to day household expenses which you are a consumer of?
The day when you buy silver and everyone around you is buying it, is when you dont want to be buying. Just continue doing what you are doing.
Hey I'm in the same boat.I rant alot at almost everywhere someonetalks about fiat but no one really pays attention to what I'm saying. So far 99% of people I know think I'm a loser of some sort for stacking silver. But ill be laughing when the time comes. Oh yea I'm also 22.
Tell her that if you keep buying silver then one day you might be able to afford to move out of home. Surely he will be happy?
Yeah all my friends just seem to humour me. Except one, I was telling him he should check out the 2nd hand stores he visits for silver. He started laughing, then i told him how much its worth and then the look was priceless, went from laughter to a real pondering look. I think I may finally have converted someone.
took home some 30+ one ounce generic bars & rounds that I got from VANGBAC. My youngest (9) had a good lesson on grams v ounces. Also a good lesson on a bit of US history. Had the kitchen scales out to teach weights. Had about a kilo of items on the table. Wife & eldest (18) would rather watch Bert Newton tell them the greatest break-up songs of all time. ABBA won. I was hoping for Whitney Houston. And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL ALWAYSSSSSSSS LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEE YOOOOOOOOUUUUUU Anyway, the 9yr old wanted to sell the Silver & get fiat to buy a puppy dog. God knows I try to teach my family..........
I pay the Internet bill and drive them around a lot as they dont have a car. I dont pay for food or any other bills, but generally support myself (clothes shoes, etc) I'm sure she just doesnt understand Silver and sees it as spending/wasting instead of saving. She is very oldschool Italian type....hard to change their ways.
My friends know I am collecting silver - but they have no idea how much. I tell them why I am doing it and they agree, mostly they have no spare cash - so it ends there. I don't want anyone to know how much I have accumulated (word gets around), only my partner knows that and so the next issue is where to stash the stack. Still thinking.... Is it true that home invaders use metal detectors?
I get mixed reactions... but when I hand them a 1kg bar they usually understand. It's all in the physical. Once they see it shining & feel the weight they start to understand that it has value & their plastic doesn't.
Is that for the puppy or the 9 year old? Hmm - does the 9 year old do dishes? I'll offer 30 ounces if he does
Sad to hear that, they actually think you are burning money and spending it on useless stuff. They want you to save, but all they know is saving in fiat and a bank account. Kinda sad that the whole fiat system has screwed up peoples minds. If its not the norm, then your wasting money. One day they will understand, just keep buying. You can't go wrong. I explained to my parents, they are supportive and the results speak for itself. However they have not bought any themselves. Its only been 5 months, I started buying kilo bars at $773 each. They are $1250 now with no signs of going down in price. If they don't understand that, then just buy and don't tell them. They don't need to know about your finances. Slam
I'm yet to see a dodgy looking dude walking around with a metal detector. ...is that a metal detector in your pocket or...
Tell her you're really spending ur money on drugs...she'll stop asking and just be glad you're at home
