I'm another chick that has mother's day on the agenda, otherwise I would have been coming to met you all too...oh well, next time maybe...have a great day.
If everyone is concerned about Mothers Day then i'd suggest that it be postponed for a few weeks... say the 26th or 27th. I can attend then. On that day i'll just be wandering aimlessly around Melbourne looking at child-friendly venues and dragging her into various coin/bullion and clothing shops that we come across.
Just a reminder to everyone not to publicly post the location where the Melbourne meeting is held - if you want to come along, PM myself or adrenalin for location details.

I have some 20 oz Perth Mint Bars... wanting to swap or sell for any current perth mint coins. Rabbits/ 2011 kooks/ Mouse Coins etc.
I'll have a pile of 2010 1oz Fiji Turtles, maybe some gold shrapnel. Might bring a natty 1/2oz silver Lunar Dragon. Looking to pick up a sovereign. If the GSR was back around 32 I'd have some kilo bars to swap for ounces of gold, but alas
Floating an idea here: Last meeting I didn't get a chance to get up from my seat. Which is a pity, cause I'd like to spend a bit more time in discussion. I'm looking at running a physical auction for items from single ounces up to kilos. Maybe run for 15 minutes from 7:00. That way there's less of a queue behind the few dealers, and a fairer distribution of the bargains. Most items will have an implied SPOT reserve, some may not. Be a good chance to discuss some of the interesting aspects of some of the items. Also willing to auction items on behalf of others. What do people think?
...that you're a mind reader? I was going to suggest the same thing - was kicking the idea around during the evening commute. I'll consider putting up some Series I Lunars for auction with reserve... I'd hate to see the meetings turn into a "so how much bid for this bog standard kilo bar?" version of the trading forums though. Lots of new members at these things and it would be a shame for people to get carried away a-la-eBay.
I think we should have plenty of time this time round to have auctions and play musical chairs so everyone gets to meet and chat with other members. Last meetup we were getting shoved out at 4pm by the staff. This new private location, we won't get kicked out.
