Special thanks to Redback for suggesting the secret venue for tonight. Remember you need to register your interest in attending to find out the venue. Thanks to Adrenalin for organizing the day, and to Spannermonkey for his assistance throughout the evening. Thanks also to GoldPelican, for running the auction. Ck.
And a big thankyou goes out to Adrenalin , CK ,GP And the person responsible for organising the venue
What a meeting - I had to run early (Mothers Day stuff) but I was there early, about 5 hours in all. We ran an auction for this meeting which turned into the dominating feature of the meetup - I think I was standing up for about 2.5 hours! Interested to hear feedback on what people thought of an auction taking up so much time - there was still a lot of the regular horse trading going on, I had no idea how much stuff was going to end up being auctioned. Given most stuff sold I'd say it will become a permanent feature - there were some good bargains like the 1oz generic rounds going in lots of 5 for spot, I thought the boxed Britannia for $40 was a bargain (only because I was selling it!). Wife laughed at the Frederick & Mary coin I bought her Here's a selection of some of the stuff that was auctioned (the monster boxes were just being used as carry cases for other stuff!) One piece of housekeeping - if someone finds they've brought an extra pair of 2007 coloured pandas home, can you flick spannermonkey a PM - someone forgot to pay for a pair of them.
Another successful even today! Thanks to all the forum members that turned up even though it was Mother's day! Alot of new faces and familiar faces. Thankyou all for coming today. Good to see Gold Pelican make it to this event after missing out on the last few events. The new venue was perfect! We had our own private room with a bar next door. There was plenty of car park spaces and even an ATM within the complex. We had a big table set up for all of us in the room and we pulled another smaller table over to hold to auctions on. The auctions were a great new feature to have at the meetups. Alot of silver was sold at just over spot prices. Yes today's low spot prices! which were really good value. Most were even under retail prices! Thanks Gold Pelican for running the auctions I couldn't have done better myself. Very informative descriptions with every coin sold. Thanks for all that contibuted to the auctions. CK for his usual pile of goodies and others that listed up their items for auction. Thanks again for all that attended today and all that donated in the silver piggy bank. It helped alot to cover the cost of the venue. Looking forward to the next event!!
A good meet up, and good to put some faces to names. Several travelled many, many kilometers to be there. Looking forward to the next one already!
