'The rich will do all they can, to help the poor. Except get off their backs that is'.

Better a levy than more deficits. Deficits don't come for free you know, we all pay for it in the form of inflation, which is the most insidious and corrosive tax of them all, actively eating away the purchasing power of the poorest the most.

But better still would be some actual goddam economic responsibility for once from this Labor government in light of their drunken-sailor like profligacy with public funds.

For a start they could scrap the entire Department of Climate Change, we don't need it, just can the whole thing lock stock and barrel.

And they could abandon their plans to establish an inefficient socialist government monopoly over the entire wholesale broadband internet connection industry while they're at it. Private Enterprise is more than capable of continuing to service that sector and delivering new technological progress. Notice how internet data plans have been getting better and faster and cheaper for the entire last decade? Thats the way free market private enterprise works. But we can kiss all that goodbye if we allow the cumbersome bureaucratic government to meddle in it.

Government needs to learn their place in society, which is to ensure the rule of law, independence of the judiciary, National Defence and THAT'S IT.

On the flip side, the government provides a lot of awesome stuff like roads and hospitals and schools and then most people turn around and spend their money on crap.

While we sit here saying "bloody government, look how much money they waste" there is someone sitting in Treasury saying "bloody ordinary people, look how much money they waste".

    Food for thought.

    This is brilliant.

The labor party should abolish all other taxes and create the worlds first single tax system.

The Mateship Tax of 60% of all your income. Because the government and your elected politicians (and their friends) are your mates.

    G'day mates.

Reminds me of when Winfield cigarettes went from 20 to 25 per packet.

Marketed as "20 for you, and 5 for your mates"

When I wrote "taxed", I meant "taxed". I don't consider it a tax because it is not a tax, it is irony. You can't just make up definitions of inverted commas to suit your agenda. This is what Fox News does, and look how stupid it appears.

Seen the quality of NSW roads, schools and hospitals lately?

We've seen more than a decade of near zero spending whilst they pack as many bodies in as possible and tax them to death!

For everyone's reference, "BOOM, HEADSHOT" is a reference to a comedy-mocumentary series called Pure Pwnage about professional computer gaming. Its also become a very common phrase amongst online gamers in general.

It was said in the context of NSW Labor being defeated at the ballot box rather than anyone being assassinated, and it really isn't worth trying to read much more into it than that IMHO.

(Besides, we all know the Keneally government is going to get chucked out on their collective arses in March anyway).

So it's scaled. Great. So someone such as a business owner who works hard 7 days and makes a good income has to pay hundreds of dollars more than someone who works for them who makes $45K and gets holidays, sick leave, public holidays and all of the other benefits without all the stress.

Good one Joolia, another inept, dysfunctional "one size fits all" fail.

Every citizen should pay the same levy.
