well silver has never been consumed the way it has been in the past decade so I don't think silver (physical) will be in a long term downtrend. Eventually all the easy silver will be mined out and consumed and mining costs will rise and the POS will have to rise to make it more profitable to recycle it :D

    Yeah I'm bullish long term

that chart looked a little manipulated to suit his down trend to me, and 'unofficial chart using approximate data'

look at where the silver, gold, dollar peg was in effect and the hunt brothers spike, not inline with the dates, also 2 x 1600 and 2 x 1800 date

Interesting but rather pointless video...what happened hundreds of years ago in the Silver price has nothing to do with now.

This is the only type of post which you seem capable of responding to in a sensible way. Most of the other posts i make where i actually make valid points seem to be way over your head, so i figured perhaps i should drop down to your level

Fascinating data but oh so difficult to chart when a bounce off a low can last for decades.

Summary of video: long term trend is down, short term trend might be up, I'll get back to you in another 200 years to confirm.

Renovator, that was merely the opinion of YKY. If you disagree with it (which I doubt you do), why don't you just challenge him - present your viewpoint, back it up with some reasoning and ask him to explain his. otherwise let it pass like everyone else.

Personally I agree with his statement as per the reasons others listed above. It was simple and to the point. Admittedly I didn't bother watching more than 30 seconds of the video as that first chart is just useless. We all know that the price of silver has been manipulated and it is undervalued. The important part of the chart in the bottom right hand corner within our modern market environment. Currently, it is is in an uptrend and rising at a rate far greater than inflation.

Edit: You could argue that I shouldnt judge a book on its cover, but when the cover is that ridiculous, it is the authors own fault (plus the valued reviews of the fellow members above arent shining) ;)

Can you lot stop hijacking threads. Maybe GP should open a new topic called yippie vs renovator, you can slug it out there.

Why thank you hotel 46 - you're certainly the first person here who has referred to me as 'clever'.
I'm gen X by the way, so not yet old... ;)
Like Renovator, i'm a bit of a stirrer sometimes... i dont wish him or anybody else here any harm. in fact similar to what he said earlier - my wife often asks me what the hell is so funny on the laptop ;)
Its all good fun, but i do get a bit carried away sometimes.

Guys... we know silver has been in a downtrend.... That is why we're buying it! We consider it to be undervalued!

It there had been no downtrend, we wouldnt be here on this forum discussing it (or many of us wouldn't).

It is the downtrend itself that has created this oppurtunity.

Agreed, but i believe the reason most of us are here is because that highly manipulated downtrend has recently been followed by a strong uptrend ... with no end in sight.

    SILVER IS THE GAME!!
