There seems to be ALOT of new members joining in the past couple of months or so. I never seen such a large wave of new members like this before. I'm curious to know how do you get to find out this Forum in the first place? Google Search? Friends recommendation? I'll start with myself. Last year I was new to PM world, I searched and scour YouTube to learn more about PM investing. So I came across a video of Load of Bullion (a member here), so I began sending him YouTube's PM asking him all sorts of questions about PM. I guess I asked so many elementary questions, Load of Bullion recommended me to visit this site! And the rest is history. I wonder if Load of Bullion is still around here somewhere!??? So what's your story?
I listened to Mike Maloney's book, a few weeks later I went to the Perth Mint to buy a few kg's of silver. When I got home I was wondering if there were any more places in Perth selling silver and when I did a google search SS was in the top 5 on the list. With in the week I made my first purchases from AeL and BB. Been checking SS almost daily ever since.
Just googled it I think. I was looking up silver and gold investing and being the forum reader I am it led me to here.
Found my way here from Whirlpool. Don't get me started on WP, that site has a bunch of retards. Glad I post and talk about all the economic stuff here now. Slam
I got into discovering about money and currency, then came across the idea of buying PM. Forums are always the best way to learn about something. So Googled it and made my first purchase.
Whirlpool Forum here as well. From reading the bullion thread I think. We're not all retards Had it in the back of my mind what to do with my savings and precious metals seems like a good fit for me.
I have never been as active on a Forum as I have been on this one. ( im 31 yrs old ). Like-minded people. Also, my local postie and registered mail delivery guy is a stacker !! How I found out? He was dropping off a package of Latvian Silver Latis from Estonia and saw on the declaration docket "coins" , so when i showed up on the door, he asked if there is a coin collector, so i said i collect silver coins from all over the world. Thats when we clicked haha ( I am married and straight, i meant clicked as in a PM way) We talked about silver, and i showed him my collection, exchanged emails, now we are exchanging dvds, was gifted with a 1966 50c piece, and i replied with a Czech 20 Korun ( Charles University ). He is a member here, but more active with Jim Sinclair blog. Thats one of mine silver stories
Might have enough members for a Perth-meet sometime... god knows there's not much to do in this city...
I was searching for info on silver bars and this link came up in the search. Spent the next few hours (and more since) reading through the threads. This forum was a real gem of a find.
Amazingly enough I cannot remember. I do so much research, that I end up all over the place. I believe I was researching AU coins. Either way, I new right away I wanted to join.
found SS during the 2008 global crisis when searching for more info on precious metals. Haven't looked back. This is the first forum i've ever been on.
I have been reading lots of forums and books and many were recommending silver, so finally thought I better get some (got the beans and bandaids). Looked on ebay as I had no idea how to start really, saw the german silver and thought I need to do some more research before sinking hard earned money into silver. A quick google saved costly mistakes and uncovered this forum. I have a lot to learn and I have learned a lot over the last week or two since I found it.
