I was a visitor to this site for a good 6 months or longer before I joined. I only began surfing the net around 2006 and 2007. I used to visit the oil drum, peak oil and latoc and also kitco. I used to google financial crisis and that is where I first came into contact with Gerald Celente, Mike Maloney and Max Keiser. However I never ever joined because even though I can get around the net I have never ever mastered it and even now I have only sent 2 or 3 pm's on this site. I've still got my L plates. When my sons come home for Chrissy I might get them to show me how to post a few pictures of some of my silver hoard.

Silver Stackers is the only site that I have ever joined and this is because you don't pretend to be know alls and you know when you post something that no one is going to call you a bloody idiot. I have been stacking silver since 08.

    Regards Errol43

Google, but it took a while. It was more of a stumble across, not a find.

have been reading gold-eagle.com since 2005...that lead me to the daily reckoning..couple of years later i wanted forums so found coin community in the usa....but wanted to find like minded people in oz.....so typed silver/gold hoarders in google and came across s.s's....was about 5years in the making from first purchase to finding this awesome site//

i first was buying metals from abc in sydney...then got tired of all the 100 point i.d the 6 weeks wait on silver kg bars.....so on.....now only trade from people here.....i say keep it local and keep paper trail low.

Someone on Whirlpool suggested this forum for silver and gold.

    Or mine.

Have not been on ebay much lately, just to check out what Silver/ Gold items are selling for.

eg kilo bars & 66 50c coins etc.

MUCH more than the bargins on SS

    So true.

I migrated here in the very beginnings with many others from the Kitco forums.
From day one until the present this forum continues to have better quality informative posts IMHO.
This forum is also Australian based which is important, because Kitco is based in some country called America? :p
You have posted some great stuff chimpanchu, especially the run down on the gold conference, so thanks!.
Anyway, this is the second forum I've ever been part of, and thus, thanks all for the flow of interesting info :)

I found a reference in an American article to buying Australian kangaroos as an investment, but no hint in that article that they were gold.

Spent quite a number of hours searching for what on earth these kangaroos were - assuming of course that they were not the furry version. Somehow I eventually got to gold and silver and then to Silverstackers.

    Then the lurking began!

Me too. Thanks hobo-jo! It went GHPC > CC > SS. Can't believe I didn't see it sooner considering all the silver stuff I've googled; I think I passed it over once or twice thinking it an American forum perhaps and therefore thought it not that relevant to me.
