I can only assume that they didn't list these until after seeing what the market would bring. I called before they were released and they couldn't tell me if they would be in stock or not. I had to order one from the mint.
Like any other business, they started very competitive. Once the customer base is big enough, it's time to make some margin. (disclaimer: i know nothing about talisman and never deal with them before, it's just a general comment)
If you buy right now Ultra High Relief at Talisman for $199.95 you'll be saving $200.00 because the the List Price: $399.95 How the hell did they come out with those prices.:|
Still waiting for my 5 x 1oz Coloured Proof Dragons to arrive. (been months now) They took the order, took my credit card details. Still no email or coins. Contacted them at least 5 times to ask what the status of the order is = no reply. Haven't been charged yet either. Would be nice to know either way if they are sending them or not. So can at least look elsewhere to buy.
Where do they get the retail price of $400 from? But I have to say, they take some really nice pics of the coins
Forget about those coins and move on and don't waste your time on contacting them, they'll either ignore you or start sending some crazy religious emails to you.
Those are long gone at Talisman and everywhere else. There are some on ebay, buy it know $159.95 USD. item number# 160759307871
Gilded Dragons are the Perth Mint's "Best sellers" this week. http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalogue/latestReleases.aspx
They had the titanic coin as best seller when HR dragon was released... and guess which one isn't sold out yet? Perth mint... i'd trust em as far as I can throw them.
I know it is a joke I would rather not even see there "retail price" they could put anything . Do they take the pictures?
