As I have stated in the past, I am all coins and about 99% of them are 1oz (gold and silver). I have been checking past sales histories of various coins on ebay and I may have been buying the wrong coins. Has anyone done an analysis of the premium increase of PM 1/2oz coins vs. 1 or 2oz coins? I am wondering whether the 1/2oz coins may not be the better investment. I see buyers paying $26-32 for 2010 .5oz silver lunar tiger coins. I also see buyers paying $28-38 for 2006 .5oz canadian timber wolf coins. This example is not as good because they are older and lower mintage than the 2011 1oz timber wolf coins. The 2oz 2010 silver lunar tigers also seem to be selling for higher prices per ounce than their 1oz compadres.

I will really need to study this issue before the 2012 dragons come out in September. I had planned on buying the 1oz coins. If my research stays consistent, I may need to concentrate on the .5oz coins.
