It was one seller and now, there are at least 5 sellers on eBay selling the award winning Mongolia Wildlife Protection Silver Coin. There are relisting it almost every 24hrs.

    http://www.ebay.com/usr/beautiful1086
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/haodongdong2012
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/rareitem123
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/cuiping88
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/huihuang9918
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/2012mengxiangchenggong

Why do I get the feeling that it is a 'fake'?
I had asked them to send me a real photo of the actual coin, but they keep insisting that it is the same as in the listing. And assured me that I will get full refund if I am unsatisfied with the item.

I know you can report a listing, but the listing probably ends by the time eBay received the report.

    Edit: added another seller

    Feedback says

Negative feedback rating FAKE COINS. MANY FRAUDULENT SELLERS FROM CHINA. CHECK CAREFULLY WITH REAL COIN. Buyer: 2***a ( 1424Red star icon for feedback score in between 1,000 to 4,999) During past month

There was also another feedback left saying very poor quality, people are paying them hundreds of dollars for these things.

that is sick. I mean, my ram cost 270.00. I got it back in the day from APMEX. This sort of stuff can't be good for the market. Floods it with sh*t coins that aren't even real. There can't be a COA or a nice wooden box. That is unbelievalbe that people are so stupid.

Buying an expensive coin like one from the Mongolian Wildlife series from Ebay is like playing Russian Roulette, but buying it from an Ebay vendor located in China is like playing Russian Roulette with a semi-automatic pistol.

This i so sad. I short checked the sold items on ebay ( hedgehog )
There are so much coins for sale, i think most of all are fakes.
I was early into the game and bought two, i think it was around 250 each.
There were a lot of people in later and bought on prices around 450 and more.
With all the fakes you will never again be able to sell real ones for a good price.
Even if you decide to grade them you give good money after the bad.
Looks like you can melt them down :-(

yes sir. you are right. I'm in the same boat. I bought one for about the same price...a little higher. But this is one I've counted as a loss (on paper). There are a gazillion for sale...and they have to be fakes. I can't beleive they fake the COA too. wow. #disappointed. I can't believe nothing can be done. It's like you cut one arm off, and 10 more grow. And what's crazier still, people are buying them!!!!

I suppose this is a very good example of not only how it hurts the people buying the fakes but also the people who have the real thing, you raise a very good point.

A coin with only a supply of 2500 after 3years you normally find nearly nothing on markets.
    Must for sure be fakes

    This is worrying.

    http://pages.ebay.com/againstcounterfeits/
"What can you do to help?
    eBay users:
Pay for your purchases using PayPal"

Is eBay suggesting that we buy the fake item?

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/replica-counterfeit.html
    "Not allowed
Backup or archival copies of software
Bootleg recordings from concerts or other live shows (see our bootleg recordings policy for more info)
Counterfeits, fakes, or replicas of brand name items (for example, a purse bearing the Chanel name or logo that wasn't made by Chanel)
Counterfeit electronics (like cell phones) or software
Counterfeit replacement parts or consumables that weren't made by the manufacturer that the items are labeled with
Digital copy only discs or codes (originally sold as part of a Blu-ray or DVD combo package)
    Fake autographs
Media (such as CDs, DVDs, flash drives or any other recordable media) containing scanned pages from a book, magazine, manual, or other copyrighted materials that you didn't create
Unauthorized or pirated copies of things like:
    Movies or videos
    Audio books and ebooks
    Music CDs, MP3s, MP4s
    Photos
    Software
TV programs (including CDs or DVDs containing shows that were taped from television)
    Video games

Counterfeit currencies are not listed, so it is a grey area where seller can get away with.

ebay does not monitor fakes they leave it to the bidder/purchaser to identify the fake, the policy wording is put there purely to protect them against prosecution whilst sill being able to collect the sale fees on obvious fake goods that are sold and never reported. They even introduced a system years ago where the seller can make each and every sale "Private Buyer" even though the bidder has no such privacy concerns on their purchases? By making a sale "Private buyer" it makes it impossible for future bidders to see items purchased and cross reference buyer/seller shill bidding practices.

ebay is full of fake items and always have been! Coins and other PM,s in big quantities or listings may be new but fake clothing has been rife since ebay first started.

I have reported counterfeit coins being sold in the past 2 months and they are still up for sale by the same seller?

If they removed them they would not make money off the listing..... Make money or stop people getting ripped off? They are a company that wants to make money so just ignore it and collect the fees.

    Hi guys,

This topic made me worry a bit. I recently purchased a Gulo Gulo from a US-seller on ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/billyrhoad).
Please find photos attached. Would be grateful for any advice.

If somebody can redirect me to a place in Sydney, where I can check authenticity, I am happy to follow.

    p.s.
also bought a few Mongolian coins from member of this forum - silversmith (http://forums.silverstackers.com/profile.php?id=5800) - coins are great. Can recommend him.

The lamest is that fakeBay doesn't care much about this. I believe there are still fakes available of Tiffany Art 2012 (if I'm not wrong) despite numerous emails sent, even from CIT.

But you know, fees continue to roll in. And that's what it matters.

If you sell enough stuff for ebay, they just wipe your bad feedback as well. If you are a platinum seller from what I understand it, you get your own rep and they look after you because you are a cash cow. They apparently are more than happy to delete bad feedback.

Not that I own a real one to do a visual comparison but I have seen pictures of real ones and these fakes appear quite convincing...kinda freaks me out that they are making such high quality fakes.
