    No problem.

When you buy from the right people 99.9% are.

They'll reimburse you also if it turns out they've sold you a fake... they have too much to lose.

A one off seller like this should send you running for the hills, not worth the risk.

Fake slabs are very obvious once you have them in hand, this listing just put me off a bit because the coin looks legit (as it is) and the slab looked fine until I looked at the slanted 6.

Final bid almost $2000 AU, 1261 GBP.

So the hard hitters and Panda experts didn't bid because this is valued at upwards of $4000.

Still sucks to be the winner though.

Good work Fishball , If we all keep an eye on our Panda's for fakes on EBAY we can make it harder for the scammers You would think someone paying that kind of money would check the NGC database ?

I hate this crap... People trying to make an easy dollar pack of bastards the lot of them. You can even see the same coin in the shot to the left. I suppose all photos should have a watermark. Ebay should have a standard one that uses your account name with each photo, and puts 10 random watermarks on the photo. If a copied image is used it will have the users ebay id watermark already on it. Anyone good at programming there is a simple idea to sell to ebay ?

Thanks mate, good lesson learned in due diligence.

Just thinking out load, why didn't the fake seller just list the original item anyway, instead of going to the trouble to change the numbers. It appears you wouldn't have received anything anyway ? At least if the number was right people would have bid more.

Yeah no idea why he shopped (poorly) some numbers.

I think I've done better edit jobs before using MS Paint than that guy :|

As for the lesson, it applies for everything not only Pandas. If you're going to bid/buy something which is worth over $2000, use your brain and do some research ;)!

NGC database was down for most of the day though, he was probably thinking of luring unsuspecting bidders who would put down a high $4000 bid and go away for the rest of the day.

I think the reason the guy edited the pic was because being 2000 mintage and PF 69, most of the hard hitters know each other and who owns that coin. They pretty much know the coin off by heart including numbers and would be able to instantly tell it was a fake or stolen image. I might be slightly exaggerating though but that's the only reason I can think of.

Do you think the account may have been hacked. It looks out of place for such a seller ?
