This case has nothing whatsoever to do with postage and who did or did not want insured or tracked. This is yet another case of a seller starting an auction at $1 but then not being happy with the price achieved. If a seller has a reserve price in mind, they should flaming well list the item starting at that price. If a seller starts an item at $1 then they have to accept whatever price they end up with in the ebay casino... ... or cop the negative feedback if they don't follow through with the transaction. Period. The seller sets the starting price, not the buyer. SC - if you leave neg feedback, make sure you include details of the supposedly lost items
Hi southern cross, just to help clarify the definition of terms - looked at the ebay listing and postage says: Postage: AU $9.00 AusPost Parcel with tracking and signature This is in fact not registered post, just regular post (see Fishball's austpost guide on these forums for the details). If it was registered it would actually say registered. But regardless, seller should still have provided the tracking number using Aust Post's click and send system. Opinion: seller not happy with sell price and trying to fool you.
To be fair to that seller, I wouldn't know the difference between those types of postage and any such mistake would be purely out of ignorance.
Then don't sell or don't offer the differing price structure when it comes to postage terms. Ignorance is not an excuse for someone not receiving something they paid for nor an excuse for posting something of value which "supposedly" gets lost . Shouldn't you expect what you pay for ? .
Like I said, I wouldn't have KNOWN that there was a difference. So I wouldn't know that what I was doing was different to what I'd advertised. Until recently, I just assumed platinum post meant registered post... Maybe your seller was the same. Not everyone is out to get you. Maybe try to educate the seller, rather than festering over it for however long you have been... Actually, I was reading 'reg' as an abbreviation of 'registered'. Is that not what was meant? If it is instead an abbreviation of regular then I completely understand where you are coming from
Maybe learn your shit before selling? Then you would have KNOWN. Dont blame buyer for your ignorance of relevent postage facts.
See edit: "Actually, I was reading 'reg' as an abbreviation of 'registered'. Is that not what was meant? If it is instead an abbreviation of 'regular' then I completely understand where you are coming from!"
Yeah, re-read it and I am assuming that 'reg' did in fact mean 'regular' rather than registered I'd be furious about that too! To clarify, is platinum the same as registered? Or would you be annoyed if you paid for platinum post and got registered post?
All good for me not so good for him. And all quite unnecessary really as the option was there to rectify things before any action was taken.
