Appearances are everything. They have to at least look like they are putting up a fight in a pro-wrestling scripted kinda way.

C'mon guys i'm trying to contribute positively to this site........Give me a break............Its not my fault that soooooo many people hav'nt even a clue about how bad things are over there........It was good to see some MSM reporting the subject finally....

Maybe in a few weeks time we will really see things start to heat up and they will show a lot more of it as the sheeple begin to wake up?

Just you relax matey......turn about 180 degrees and look at it this way....they are actually doing themselves a big favour shutting the government down.....they will actually be saving a lot of money.....imagine how much money the australian government would save if all the public servants went on strike for a few months.....as they are a nett loss to the government...we would save a fortune..apart from being a bit inconvenienced of course...

Yeah but when they do re-open they have to backpay all the government employees while they are sitting on the arse at home don't they? It's more about the labour time they won't get back and lack of productivity which hits GDP pretty hard. It's not like they are going to work harder to make up for the backlog of work they missed.

Ye maybe you are right Tolly..... I just wish they would take the right steps to avoid a default and start paying some bills but I don't think its possible.....They have gone too far now....All they know to do is borrow, borrow, borrow... I suppose its all up to The FED and whatever tactics they have up there sleeve for the next few years?

You could be right, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some form of compensation through backpay. Unions officials would be raging otherwise

Martin Armstrong recently posted information on how the U.S. government is considering grabbing the 17 trillion in pensions as a way out of their problems......wouldn't that be interesting

Surely Obama will just sign an Executive Order or whatever to raise the debt ceiling

Come the end of October, there will be either green shoots or brown shoots depending on what the red and blue gurus come up with.

    Now place your bets, Gentlemen.

I really think Obama will pull a rabbit out of a hat trick and come up with some strange/wierd way of organising his debt repayments.......If it was really that bad I think the media would be all over it already? I don't know maybe things will really heat up in a weeks time?

I'm fairly sure he can't just pull something out of his hat... That's why the government has shut down. He can't just make an executive order for the debt ceiling. But who knows, he might try anyway lol.
