Anytime from now until mid October it will increasingly become urgent depending on congress sitting dates.

If you think about it is probably better for the US to default now then to keep putting it off allowing countries like China and Russia to position themselves better with more gold purchases which could allow them to back their currencies with it or at least be in a decent position to come out on top when the dust settles. Also with the amount of US treasuries that China holds it is only a matter time until China pushes the sell button. If the US defaults now they take everyone with them.

There's a bit about tapering and the debt ceiling in this article: Gold could sink below $US1000: Goldman

    This.
Only after the fact will people wake up.
Like bail in legislation - people should be protesting NOW, but they wont. When their money is stripped from them, then they will protest - by then its too late.
The sheeple have wool in their eyes and until they are given a good shearing they shall walk blind.

I'm really starting to worry about this....Even though I think Obama will raise the ceiling again its just worrying that he may not be allowed to.....This means we are only months away from a huge worldwide collapse......what can we do apart from sitting and waiting and watching the computer screen keeping up to date?

I don't even have any metals stacked.....don't even have a job at moment either..

Don't worry, or take on board what will happen in the USA - what will happen will happen.

You are fortunate in knowing what will play out, but you, like the rest of us do not know how. Don't stress it - enjoy life (to a point) as it comes but once!

If there was to be a worldwide collapse there would be plenty of other people without jobs or metals. Maybe look into developing skills whilst looking for a new job. So volunteer for the SES or the RFS etc, it doesn't cost you anything, you'll learn new skills that could prove useful and you might make some new connections that could lead to a new job. Not to mention it would look favourable on a CV.

Maybe were all worrying for absolutely nothing....Obama will just raise the ceiling again and be on his merry way.......The real problems wont be for a few more years yet it seems? This printing could go on for another 20 years like Japan did?

The Fed could try to tinker with the money supply for years, but the US dollar has gone global and that spells trouble for a corrupt financial system.

O.k so they're not going to taper after all that waiting..... We just need the debt ceiling debate to be resolved to work out what will happen with metals next?
