This is a good article on how the man bear pig Al Gore reworked his version of the truth to forward his agenda. I like the conclusion too -

"Al charges over $100,000 per slide show. But the real money that Al will make is through his new company, Generation Investment Management, a company that seeks to establish the rules and licensing for the new carbon-trading scheme. We have all heard of politicians who lie for money and power; it looks as if Al did not retire after all."

I wonder what incentives Dillard has been given to pick a side in this debate?

Of course the data isn't clear enough to confirm one way or another all I know is that this has become politicized with one set of data and information and credible scientists and investigators who don't tow the AGW theory are being shunned as troublemakers and are discredited.

Of course we can't forget the climategate emails - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/21/science/earth/21climate.html?_r=2

How can we be sure the information stands up on it's own if some of the humans involved are fudging the data to further their own agenda?

So we have 3 sides to this debate.

    1. There is global warming and it is man-made
    2. There is global warming but it is caused by solar activity and cycles of climate change the earth goes through
    3. The earth is now going into a period of global cooling due to natural cycles of the earth.

    As a biology grad
the carbon cycle is undergrad 101
and all else(solar cycles. etc) being equal
yes climate change is caused by humans.
But NOT by Ozzie humans !
Per head of population we probably have the least CO2
    footprint amongst all nations.
We may even (as a nation) be a net sequestrator
    of global CO2.
Surely we need to calculate human CO2 output per head
of population per unit area of land/person.
    Therefore
I suggest that the shear vastness of this continent is a net
importer of CO2 via plants from the rest of the world.
Why then arent we taxing the rest of the world for their
pollution that our land is sequestrating?
And why are the greens and redjulia not doing so
and declaring war on its own citizens?

    crasbed
and another is on its way to give you the numbers
    DONT condescend me
if you didnt do 101 biology CO2 cycle @ an Oz Uni
    MY YOUTH DIDNT DO YASI
    WA RECORD 2011 temps
    today
    record low ARTIC ICE MASS
    etc
    we cant get real
    about solutions

Proof? Depends what you mean by proof. Evidence? yes.

But since everybody here is probably sick and tired of this conversation going nowhere I'll just post this handy little flowchart here that might just head off another train wreck of a thread. Maybe...

You say you went to Uni, yet, completely fail to piece together a comprehendible paragraph.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, it's Friday after all. Would you like to try again?

If you're a graduate you could at least attempt to use proper grammer, spelling and sentence structure. I'm not even sure what you're trying to say.

Who are you replying to here anyway?

Ha, got beaten to the punch by Mud Gecko :)

And it ( carbon cycle) is the only basis (like gold)
to tax for a genuine economy
so here in Oz we are sequestrating/head popn/ land area
more than any of our trading partners.
So why is Julia taxing us
    and not our trading partners
for our least global density population/ area unit-nation?
Howard knew it to exempt Oz's from Kyoto.
    Plant more trees
    grow more vegs
and declare to yr local fed member
    you deserve a
    carbon tax deduction
and tell the inner city green voters
    to bulldoze their houses
and plant trees for tax credts.
    Myself
    here
    the
    bush
    are tired
    of city
    hyps
    we
    get less tax pork
    to absorb your CO2 pollution
    How about tenting here bush
    a few yrs
and doze yr city 1/4's to save the Jap polluters.
    Oh
    Sorry
    my arrogance
    nuclear
    is good for your health!

Dwayne, I like your discussion flow chart, but the parties need to be speaking the same language for it to work I think.

I'm beginning to think the same thing. Maybe it's because I didn't do biology at an OZ uni? :)

and if the "climate change" is linked to the planetary effect of a passing brown dwarf on a highly elliptical orbit as a binary companion to our central sun do we get our money back? I doubt it.
