dunno, but when i placed my order in feb, the guy did mutter something bout 1500kg arriving next month...so might be some truth in that
What do people think of ABCs allocated storage option, is this a safe way to hold Gold. I plan to purchase a tidy amount and storing at home is not something I wish to do due to volume. I rang today to get a quote and because of their phone problems am still waiting, I did leave a message though. I did the same thing over the phone some 2 weeks ago as all sales staff were busy(fair enough), I'm still waiting for that return call as well. Any recommended places to purchase Gold In Melbourne?
For Melbourne, see http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-8117-melbourne.html Are you aware ABC in Sydney and ABC in Melbourne are two totally unrelated companies?
Yes agree. When it comes to customer service and friendliness ABC Sydney will not win award anytime soon. Most ladies working there are very unfriendly and uptight (except for 2 ladies who are extremely nice and polite), they got the attitude "tell me what you want QUICK, gimme the money, here your metal... now begone!" But then again I still find ABC Sydney is the cheapest and most convenient bullion store to buy your metal from. If there is other place where I can over the counter for similar price ABC Sydney is selling, I'm gooone.
Not quite right. If you don't pay promptly your order will be cancelled or repriced. Not sure what the time limit is though. The price you pay is the price you are quoted (note the word "quoted") when you place your order. As for customer service, I agree with everything that has been said, show me another place that sells as cheap as this mob and I'll be gone.
appears abc sydney have new range of pamp silver as well! * Product * Minted 1oz * Minted 5oz * Minted 10oz * Minted 100gram * Minted 500gram * Cast 1kg * Purity: 999.0 * Selling Price * $56 * $259 * $478 * $167 * $741 * $1,356 * Buy Back Price * $39 * $199 * $398 * $127 * $639 * $1,279
I'm thinking of purchasing some serious amount of Gold and am considering 1 kg Pamp Bars. What are peoples opinions here regarding this size, is it OK or should I go lower? BTW, I contacted Guardian Vaults for prices for their deposit boxes and here are the prices: Small Box=$216 per year Medium Box=$330 per year I didn't inquire regarding the large box(too large) although I was expecting far more expensive amounts all around.
Depends on your exit strategy - if you're just looking to park money in told and sell back to a dealer, then 1kg is fine. Always check and compare the spreads between the buy and sell prices - get the size with a balance of the lowest premium and tightest spread.
That's still like handing over a sovereign every year. 1kg of gold (~$50K) will easily fit into the palm of your hand. Are you saying there is nowhere in your house you can put a couple of those?...even if it means hollowing out a peice of timber and bogging it over again?
Thanks everybody for your replies. "Are you saying there is nowhere in your house you can put a couple of those?" I'm planing on buying far more than two of these bars so I'll feel a lot safer them been stored elsewhere.
Storage is always an issue. Can't help you there. Depends, local is always better and what's your plan if you want to exit etc. Why are you buying... What do you expect to happen... and so on. ABC are reputable, just the wait time can be lengthy. Never heard of anyone having a problem with them.
