A decent coin but I still think it will be difficult for the RM to match the 2014 5 oz silver proof Britannia in terms of aesthetic appeal to most Britannia collectors...

Agree. Last year's design was a surprising standout. This year's design is more conservative although still very nice.

Perhaps it will look better in real life?

Ordered one each for silver proof 1oz and 5oz, not because I like them but as a continuation for my proof Brit collection...

I think the design is beautiful. The 5 oz silver coin should look very nice. Regrettably, the mint did not hear calls for a 1oz gold proof coin as a stand alone.

Not selling very fast this year. Still 510 of the 5oz:

^ I think it's still too early to tell if this will sell well. I have no intention of buying one but that doesn't mean it's not worth collecting.

This year's proof Brit is just a disappointment... No high relief, no fantastic design. I doubt it will sell out, probably it will end up like the 2013 5oz... It was on sale for like close to 10 months.

I like it, just not enough to pay 395 for it. Last year's design was well worth the price (and maybe the AUD was higher back then).

I think the design will be better in the real thing. I remember when the piedfort coin was released, I thought it was just ordinary. Once I received it, it was beautiful. I ended up buying a few more. Now they are all sold out.

If you get one of the 2015 5 oz Brits post pics and video if you can. The design is just nothing special in my view. Besides, immediately what stuck out as a flaw in the design is the under-proportioned size of the trident head...seems way too small.....it's closer to an eating fork than a battle trident. :)

I went back and looked and you are right. Its more of a crab spear than an heroic trident.

Royal Mint updated their proof Brits max mintage.

2015 Proof Britannia 1oz silver: 3,000 in limited presentation, total mintage 6,550
2015 Proof Britannia 5oz silver: 650 in limited presentation, total mintage 1,150

For her trident... actually they look small in all Britannia coins.

    Compared to last year:

2014 Proof Britannia 1oz silver: 2,500 in limited presentation, total mintage 5,300

Agree, I definitely wont buy one because of the spotting on the 2014s.
