I'm going to join you on this one, at least to some degree. I think sometimes they push things a bit too far when it comes to this stuff. But, obviously there's a (small) market for it. And people like you & I are not its target audience. You have to admit, though, it's pretty creepy what can be done these days.
mmissinglink thank you for the insights info. The more I know about this technology, the more I understand what big work there is behind this and the more I like my coins, of course I have also the first two in series Who call this nano-chip a "sticker", would call the Eiffel tower "just iron", the Colosseum "just stones" and the Taj Mahal "just a house with a pool". Point of views but I know what I am buying and worth the money paid till my last penny Alex.
For the 2nd coin in series Powercoin released a video where you can also see part of the production of these coins. I guess you can check their page and see it if you search for the 2nd coin. I think that interest in the series is growing. Of course: Italian art is amazing!
I'm liking it...new video of the actual coin! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvEb5-ymspA&feature=youtu.be .
I bought the Sistine Chapel off Ebay a few days after you started this thread. Its a pretty neat little coin. The 60x magnifying glass does virtually nothing though but you can get the idea. Looks like a photo negative on the chip.
The technology is really impressive...the Nano Chip is very tiny yet they are able to fit a massive amount of detail on it. No wonder the production room for this latest Nano coin looks like a NASA Space Center design room...it's cutting edge stuff I think. .
Yeah, it seems on the coin I got that they could have gone MUCH smaller with the Nano chip if they wanted but if they went anysmaller you would not beable to make anything out even through the provided 60x magnifying glass. After seeing the other Nano chip coins I was looking into Nano chips in general assuming they are already out there and then just getting glued to coins. Couldn't really find any nano chips that are not being made specifically for these coins.
Nabullion Dynamite... you can find nano Chips here: www.nanojewellery.com http://www.nanojewellery.com/Florence_chip.jpg
thanks for the good explanation. So actually these coins, although with such a high premium, is actually NOT as good/convenient as looking at a High Definition picture
I agree. Glad I never bought one of these. I would rather spend the premium, for a big Canvas (or Metal) printing hanging in my home I can enjoy it any time I like, much more convenient
The best coins with nano chip. I have first two coins and I want to have all coins in series. Great quality workmanship and innovative. In future should be more expensive.
2for2! I had the same feeling for that Brittania story of august last year. Nice coin, nice ass, helmet abit (hum!) oversized but well, okay! Instead I bought a secondhand frame with a nice ass on it for 1% of the Brittania price. I do like to read about these things though. Very occasionally I do buy something of this "Kind". And ya never know, if you win a lottery (should first start participate tho), crazy things DO become an option. Surplus spends easier. Seen over the financial horizon, not exactly my case lol.
Official Video, amazing details, terrific soundtrack, for me this is a work of art!
The video really shows how incredibly detailed the sculpt for this coin is...magnificent! I'm not sure which is more impressive, the Nano chip or the intricate detail of the physical coin itself. Very nice. .
Really, are you absolutely sure about that? Which group of sages did you consult to come to that conclusion? Does that also mean that the critter depicted on this coin is not as impressive as the real Donald Duck? .
Change them to the usual round shape, make them 5-oz, get rid of the sticker.. and I'm game if they price 'em within reason! After seeing the photo & video, it is a nice-looking coin..
I would buy it also as 1 Oz GOLD coin, possibly with mintage 99 pcs worldwide. I love intricate design coins, and I like art coins so much, tired of so many hairy or spiny animals with crystal eyes Alex.
