I just learned of the brand new release of the newest Nano coin, the Last Judgment - Ceilings of Heaven III.

In my view, it's by far the best of the Nano Chip coins.

Your thoughts on this new coin?

It's a high relief, .999 pure silver coin with an antique finish.

The Nano Chip in low resolution. Actual ultra-planar Nano Chip is very high resolution

Reverse side of the new Nano Chip coin for 2014. The actual Nano Chip is in the center...it's octagonal shaped

The Ceilings of Heaven coins are designed by PowerCoin in Europe.

For those who buy coins from USA dealers, it looks like the sole distributor in the USA is First Coin Company.

My guess is that the FCC will be making a high definition video of the coin soon. I have found the First Coin Company videos of high relief and specialty coins like this to be more helpful to me in knowing what the actual coin looks like than any photos.

According to the FCC page for this coin, you even get a LED microscope free with the purchase of this coin. I suppose that comes in really handy to see the details on the Nano Chip.

This coin is actually an oval? I thought the image was squashed. Is there a pic of one next to a standard silver round for context?

This the reason they give "Free Magnifier-Microscope with LED Light" lol

Otherwise 10 oz or bigger will be better size. This will be costly

    WOW!!! Amazing!!
This is my favourite nano coin so far. The design is rich of details, the coin is kind of hypnotic, looks like an eye that is looking back at you :)
There are so many details that it takes a while to "understand" the coin :)

Yup!!!:) I like it as well.

I also agree that is kind of hypnotic.

I'm fan of this series since the beginning. Actually I think it's one of the best new series.
It wasn't the first Nano one, but for me better than CIT ones.

Releasing this in bigger sizes would be awesome!:)

Powercoin makes them. Well actually CIT via Mayer mint.
This is 3rd in the series. Each represents part of Italian building. On the nano chip there is a bigger picture.
Previous one or the 1st, not sure, was also nominated for the most innovative coin of the year by some "organization" on K which name I can't recall now.:/

To keep it simple, it is a collectible coin that has a small sticker on it.
On this piece of sticker contains a very high resolution image of something (for this 3rd coin is the Ceilings of Heaven, with s high powered microscope you you can view and examine the details in this piece of sticker.

So far this series is composed by three coins:
    1) 2012 Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo from Vatican City, Italy
    2) 2013 Raphael Rooms from Vatican City, Italy
    3) 2014 Last Judgment from Florence Cathedral, Italy

    Some example:
    Source: google images

The chip depicts very famous worldwide known frescoes on a sapphire glass called nano-chip.
The resolution (level of visible details) is miles ahead what you can get using also the best ordinary printer, indeed this stuff is something completely different.
A nice view of the laboratories that are able to make this kind of nano-chip (very few in the world) is shown in the video posted above in post #5.

Expensive sticker .. i like to see hi-res art on google images or a nice art book.

As for silver.. i buy it for the silver, not for the sticker of a famous art work.. i like to keep investment simple.. cross-overs dillute my intentions and the demand pool when i come to sell..

I like to learn as i get older so i dont repeat bad investment mistakes

AgAuNEWS thank you so much for your article, your website is bookmarked among my favourites links because your articles have become very reputable and always updated about modern coins :)

I totally agree with your sentence:

Commissioned and imagined by Italian coin dealer Powercoin, produced by industry favourite Coin Invest Trust (CIT) and struck by the extremely capable Mayer Mint in Germany, the coin certainly has expertise behind it, and it's no surprise to say it's a complete success.

This coin is just 6 grams shy of an ounce of .999 pure silver.

The "Nano" refers to the incredible technology that comprises the Nano Chip on which can be seen in fine detail (under high magnification), the entire and massive Last Judgement painting which covers the entire inner dome of the Florence Catherdral scaled down to the size of a nail head!

Just to be clear, this coin's production is not being overseen by PowerCoin, but by the Coin Invest Trust company (CIT)....a firm with a reputation for very high standards in coin manufacturing.

More info on the amazing Nano Chip technology:

Nano chips are produced using micro-electronic methods under high-vacuum conditions in an absolutely dust-free environment. Using electronic beam writing, the dimensions can be scaled down to nano size. World leading manufacturers like the Fraunhofer Institute of Technology in Germany are at the forefront of Nano Chip production.

The resolution is in the nanometer range and thus on the far end of the visible light wavelength. It is the absolute smallest size for optical reproduction by using optical light methods. E.g. up to 1000 pages of text and artwork can be placed on a space the size of a fingernail.

The chip is made from high-purity and ultra-smooth quartz glass and the coating is made of textured metals like chrome and aluminum. Temperatures up to 1000 degrees cannot affect the chip and its depicted information.

Like NASA, Nano Chip production leaves no room for compromise

The equipment used to produce the Nano Chip coins are leading edge technology
