I am going to make my first silver bullion purchase tomorrow from Perth mint.
Can anyone tell me when the $US silver price will move from fridays closing price? wuold that be tuesday, ausi time?
Also when will the AU$ adjust to the $US. tomorrow morning?
Just that i suspect silver should rise in $US when their trading starts this week and i want to be ahead of a possible price rise.

    Hi Ermat,

    Welcome to Silver Stackers.

The Mel and Syd (Silver and FX) exchanges open at 9am tomorrow.

On a Monday morning silver usually opens fairly steady, but it can rise to a mini-peak at around 11am. From that point on anything can happen - up or down!

Note: If you want to 'get in early' before the markets open tomorrow just set up an account on Bullion Bourse and make your purchases with them tonight (if they have what you want). That way you lock in the price right now - and you just EFT them the payment within 24 hours. They are often a bit cheaper than Perth Mint too in my experience.

Here's hoping you get a great price for your first purchase!

Feel free to come back and tell us how you went!

    Turk

Thanks Turk. So is the Ausi silver price free to move based on currency movement from 9.00am tomorrow, and when does the US silver price move? Tuesday?

Remember it's cheaper to buy from Silver Stacker sponsor...RRP is cheaper...postage is cheaper. Lesson that I learn after my first purchase :D

Yes buy from site sponsors and dealers on here you will save a packet, especially on shipping charges. Never had a problem buying on this forum, better service and quicker shipping than the Mint.

Hey guys I'm kind of new as well, just wondering if anybody knows whether Perth Mint buys PAMP or credit suisse bars or only Perth Mint bars?
    Cheers for the help :)

from a glance through the sponsors it looks like they are more focused on smaller volumes. i'm looking for over 40kg.

Pretty sure they do buy other branded silver bullion. However its at a lower price then the buyback for PM Bullion... How much less, im not so sure.
I'll buy them in Perth off you at what the mint buys back there own bullion + 10% :p

Roger that Turk. Bullion Bourse is the winner. They don't jam you on postage charges per kilo & usually sell the shiny cheaper anyway.

You should've been buying at $26-27/oz not so long ago Ermat.

I wouldn't recc buying all in one lump - unless I was selling of course lol!

Better to spread out your investment - the price of pm's will be going down (as well as up hopefully) shortly if I know JP Morgan & the US Fed.

    VRS ;)

Last couple of months I've found that with bars. Pm robs you with postage. Charge you 2kg postage for 1kg bar sent, ends up being $30+$15insurance for 1 bar. BB less than half that.

Ahhhh yes I forgot about the PM transit tax - but otherwise there are deals to be done elsewhere on quantity ;)

Didn't your mother ever tell you, "take small bites, don't skoff it down all at once" :)
