Personally I am just stacking all the 5c, 10c and 20c coins that I come across from the birth years of my children.

If they are never needed for any other reason (SHTF, melt-value) at least when they are older they will have a heap of the 'old style solid cupronickel' coins from the year they were born.

Thanks Jis, I would've looked like a knob walking into a coin shop with an "incised" 50c coin.

I'm going to sell ASAP. I agree with your opinion, figure the price of silver will rise at a much greater rate than numismatic decimal coins, I'll be better off getting rid soon somehow.

I've been keeping 5c, 10c, 20c coins in a bucket for ... well forever. Not because I thought they may be rare, or even becasue I thought the metal mightbe valuable one day, but because I hate carrying them around.

I had a look thru the bucket, at some not all, and found a 1972 5c coin ...

... Now I have the bucket tipped out on the bed. What have you done to me?

Not spectacular, looks like a coin from 1972.

I've finished with the bucket, that was the only coin worth noting (I think) ... too late now anyway, they're all back in the bucket!
