I've watched them all so far and have to admit there's components of this that have me scratching my head. The 'wtf' factor of dragging wives and kids into the field really nagged at me as a parent myself and this constant niggling in the crew made it come across more as days of our lives than an actual mining operation. So far, it feels more like Survivor Alaska than any real gold mining outfit. Think about how much gold and silver he could have had if they just put that 180k odd straight into the metal rather than this?
Now where's the fun in that..... hmmm ok maybe slightly less interesting that going mining for gold Even if they break even in costs from the gold they find they will be ahead with the money from the TV show.

I DVRed the series a year ago or more...? Every episode I kept thinking they don't need a mining expert, just someone with a bit of sense and judgement and they could have made mad money SMH
It's a reality TV show with an angle to appeal to males/prospecting types. I haven't watched the 2nd series yet, the first one annoyed the crap out of me (although I admit to watching it all)
