I think a more interesting prediction will be how long you keep that sammysilver quote in your signature.. it's going on 2 years now.

I once tried searching the archives to see how that came about but couldn't find where sammy said it?

Unfortunately, most people like yourself make judgements such as this...without traveling, and actually getting to know Americans for yourself.

Having been to 22 countries in my life, I could easily make comments about other nations that are far from flattering...but, I choose to look at the good.

Speaking of "good." Silver is, sadly, not "good."

It won't hit $20 for another 10 years. (In USD, if that's ok...since this is the currency that I use).

In all fairness to Jester it took me a decent chunk of my adult life before i realized my anti-American sentiment was against the US Govt political standings and NOT individual US Citizens.
It was just a matter of changing a word or 2 in comments and i have moved from a anti'American to Anti US Govt CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.
And yes i know many other nations commit these crimes also, BUT it is the US Govt that preaches democracy while committing these crimes against humanity (and democracy).
It is a case of " do as we say, not as we do" and we all know how that turns out.
At least in China , Russia or Iraq we know what to expect as they make no secret of the fact they are in control and democracy is NOT what they are about.
The percentage of nice Americans i have met is in the same range as any other nationality , i have even met Americans that have the same feelings about the US Govt as myself.
All governments are out to screw us , but not all of them fly drones over our families and drop bombs on our wives and children and other family in an attempt to "save us" from terrorism.

Most Americans are good decent people who would be besides themselves if they really knew what their warmongering Government was doing abroad in their name such as starting BS wars, foreign policy, sanctions, toppling other nations leaders, ect. The biggest trouble maker on the planet is the US government, CIA and military. The world would be much be better off if the US government stopped playing world police (for it's own gain) and stopped sticking it's nose in everyone's business.

I too have hated American foreign policy and incorrectly associated that with its people. In fact, the people are just as good as the general population of the planet and I saw the error in my ways.

But it never amends the 911s, Iraqs, Vietnam and the many remaining self interest decisions that have badly shaped the world for many.

It is not just wars that kill. Millions of innocent people die from US sanctions.

US foreign policy/sanctions cause deaths of half million innocent children just in Iraq -

The U.S. has had many war mongering psychopaths in leadership positions...been that way for a very long time.

Many, but definitely not enough, U.S. citizens despise those people and actively oppose them in various ways.

Same could be said for any other country with despots and psychopaths at the helm...some or many of the people under them are disgusted by their actions.

    .

  20. There are far worse despots than the United States government also, who are less well known but far greater in their evil deeds.
The house of Saud is one that immediately comes to mind as it now begins to spread its evil beyond its own borders.
    There are many, many others.
The U.S. seem to take a less direct role lately in their endless proxy wars.
