In most cases though less is definitely less. Democracy at it's most effective is that which occurs at the grassroots level, ie close to the people. Whether that be local councils, involvement in local sporting groups, cultural activities or service organisations or most importantly effective parenting or family groups. The reduction of democratic representation at a local level by the Qld Gov't via its forced amalgamations of shire and city councils in regional areas in 2008 is an example of a population increasing in size while the representative governing body is drastically decreased. We have less politicians at a local level now, which I think is unfortunate.
The world is technically awash in solar energy...but it's usefulness as a replacement to fossil fuels is in doubt....where I live the amount of energy that falls from the sun is approx 1.2 watts per square meter per hour in winter...not even enough to compete with a match which burns out in about 10 seconds. the earths average is 250 watts per square meter/day....you would have to save the energy of 6 square meters all day long in a battery to power your hair dryer for a few seconds. You in Northern Austrialia likely get higher than the worlds average for wattage...but there is still a problem...solar energy is not associated with physical building blocks needed for the fertilization of our soils. The feed stocks of Natural Gas and Oil are used to create these fertilizers, and it is these fertilizers contantly being pumped into and onto the soils that have allowed our population to get to the stage it is at today...to quote Dr Bartlett as these resources decline "Nature will take care of the problem" A couple of more cases to keep things in perspective...all of the fossil fuels we currently use were created via solar energy. The power of the sun fell over the surface of the earth for hundreds of millions of years to biologically assemble the compounds that we have managed to burn through in less than 150 years. Here is a real world one...I heat my house for 6 months of the year with wood. It takes about 15 good sized trees each of approx 40 years old to do this. 15 x 40 = 600 years of sunlight falling on the area of the earth covered by one tree is required to heat my house for half a year...1200:1 When Dr Bartlett made his presetnation he was a few years short of the peak and theferfor did nothave the data to complete the curve, but he still mamaged to indiacte an earleist date of 2004. And if you look at hte current world oul prodcition statistics youj will see the world oil producitn has been falt since that time at about 85million barrels/day...we have not been able to increase it. There is not a world wide conspiracy to keep it at this level, when oil prices spiked at $150 dollars/barrel, greed in the oil sands of Canada started to take over, massive mounts of development took place to get as much out and onto the market at these windfall prices. There are many charts out there in interwebworld but looking at the real figures give you a true picture of what is happening....the Peak has occurred and we are starting downwards now... These large new discoveries that you hear touted in the news of 3 billion barrels being found etc are just hype. Dr Bartlett explained it quite nicely in his presentation and basically 1 billion barrels of oil will last the world less than 12 days...it's just pee in a bucket. Tying this back to silver...the dollars backed by nothing and manipulated by the energy supplies will fall in value as the energy sources tied to them deplete...this is why your store of wealth should be somewhere else...gold and silver were money before the age of oil.
Stop using facts against me When I posted that it was down...now excuse me while I go wash my underpants!
You know as well as anyone riding the silver train is like this... You never need to ask what the spot price is. All you need to ask is 'are we having fun yet?'
virtually on 28 - I think we'll crack it 25 was always on the cards & still is...even a modest overshoot Brown skid marks down from there
i see very good then, 28 dollars is a pivotal holding point as this is around the 50 day moving average, if we go below 28 i highly expect to see the 25 - 26 mark as this is the next holding level
This is a solid move. One a few people have predicted. Personally, I hope that it moves to the $26 mark. But then i never get what i want, so my money is on $28.
