I just checked APMEX for the 2013 with box and COA and it still showed as 7. I was also trying to find the Banco De Mexico mintage figures. Had seen the list that showed 2013 mintages, showed Aztec Calendar as being only 500 but I didn't look at the Libertad. And now of course I can't find the page!

Thanks db! Others in this thread have indicated that the 2014 is going to be 1000, do you concur?

Thank you for confirming! 2014 could be the year I take the kilo Libertad plunge!

Mmissinglink, why the 2014 though given that the 2013 is a lower mintage? Surprising that apmex still has 7! Tempting indeed!

I can save some money on a 2014...though of course, the low mintage of the 2013 is really a big plus. I'll have to think about it a little more then make a decision.

This thread has greatly increased my interest in libertads. The 2014 7 coin set was the first lib purchase I made. I want to thank all the members who share their knowledge about all the different coins out there.

I was wondering if there was a reason given for the low mintage of the kilo in 2013.

I think the Libertads are a great coin. I really like the design. I recently added 25 libertads, so the idea of adding a kilo coin to go with the others I bought intrigues me, I am not sure the boss would be board for that.

I believe a forum member had written in one of these threads that they ship Libertad's worldwide....let me check a couple of threads and get back to you.

Now just to be clear, you are interested in a kilo proof-like Libertad?

Thank you for your kind words and wishes. Hopefully they will come true as well as both kilo Libertad and Aztec Calendar in my hands! :)

I also dig a lot reverse of Libertads. Hell it's probably one of the best reverse, at least of modern coins. :)

An email update came into my box today from Mexican coin seller Lois & Don Bailey notifying of the delays for the shipping from the mint of some of the silver 2014 Libertad products. As part of that message, we are told "...the 2014 silver Libertad PL Kilos, like the 2014 5pc silver Libertad proof sets, these coins have been allocated out, and our entire allocation has been pre-sold."

I'm a little surprised because most of the chatter, at least here in the SS forum, has been about the 7-coin proof set, not so much the kilo Lib or the 5-coin proof set. Interesting.

It was also noted in the email that no more gold Libertads (neither uncirculated nor proof) will be produced in 2014.

Have a kilo ordered, the 7 pc set with much lower numbers seemed like a better deal than the 5 pc-plus have a few from last year already
