Anyone who wants some kookas better get a move on as the mint has sold out and only distributors have them for sale. I just scored a roll at an average of $38.95 a coin. Excellent deal i think. I got mine from Bullion Bourse in Perth. These guys are the best IMO. Better ring Tim if you want to get some. Still quite a few left there but prices have and will rise as the coins get down to low levels around the globe.

By my calculations there are less than 1500 2012 kooks left at B/B. There site hasnt updated stock levels since atleast 3:30pm so could be under 1000.

I think your right mate. thats why i got the kooks. Do you know what coins will be released besides the koalas in the first half of 2012? I will be loading up on the 10oz and 1kg bars until the snakes come out i reckon.

Koalas will all you'll be able to get from pm in 1 oz form.
Should be able to get all other sizes in kooks koalas and dragons*

*until they stop minting half, 2oz and 5 oz dragons... Or have they already. Time will tell

Bullion Bourse now out of 2012 Kooks I think, just checked and none listed.

Glad I got my order in a little while ago

BTW; do Kooks usually sell out before their face year has even started?

Somewhat kicking myself for putting off getting the Kooks earlier at a cheaper price until the last minute. Could've bought a roll from B/B 3-4days ago when it was $766 or thereabouts. Checked it last night (after receiving an email from another dealer saying it was sold out) and ended up paying $800. Oh well the early bird gets the worm...

And on another note, 6wks is a very impressive record for all 2012 Kooks to be sold out - for comparison how long did the 2011 and 2010 coins take to sell out?

you could buy 100 kooks for $4k or a 100 oz bar for $3500? with the change you could get 20 kooks

Just bagged 40 Kooks 2012 on the assumption that the price can only go up.
Strange that a coin can sell out in the year prior to its denomination.
Must be a Perth Mint thing ?

Will the mint not be producing more or are they gearing up for 2013 already ?

Christmas lights are starting to burn in the windows so maybe I should get an Easter bunny and stay ahead of the herd ?

I'm leaving the 2012 Kook alone myself. I'm yet to be convinced with a 66% mintage higher than previous years (300k up to 500k) that the extra 200k coins a year wont affect its price in the future compared to other years.

Still, at spot +$5 it isnt a bad deal for bullion coins.

If not kooks then what, Maples - Nope, ASEs - Nope, Libertads - Nope, 2012 pandas (8mil or whatever mintage) + extra premium - Maybe, Cougars - Nope. 2012 kooks are by far the best of the worst!
