So, anyone contemplating on selling their gold? Seeing as a few stackers say "gold is forever", does this mean they will hold at any price? It's an odd situation: Gold goes to DA moon, but as it is a form of wealth protection, selling out doesn't make much sense unless it can be swapped for a primary need (e.g. shelter). Now I know silver was probably easier to let go off (and yet many did not sell at the last high) so I get the feeling most people will miss this chance to sell high. I'm holding. If this GFC2 gets out of hand, then I'll be needing it for SHTF. Can't say it isn't tempting though.
It's funny that whenever gold hits a new high, we all act so surprised. I mean, I would have thought that people here would expect this to happen and not make such a big deal of it, given the calamitous state of the Western world. If you look at a long term chart of gold, you would expect it to be considerably higher by Christmas, wouldn't you? The fundamentals for fiat look pretty dire at the moment, and I can't think of a damn thing I'd rather be in than gold. So if I, a mere nobody, can come to that conclusion, I'm sure some mega-players out there are also coming up with the same conclusion and loading up. Even Ross is talking about gold as I write...lol.
I think this calls for another celebration. When it breaches $1764 I'll find a bigger cake Call me a greedy bastard, but I'm wishing I'd followed through on my tentative plan in the week leading up to August 2 and bought another 4oz of gold. With gold going up in US$ and the NZ$ dropping 6% against the greenback, it would have been a win/win. Instead it's still sitting in the bank earning less than the rate of inflation. If the POG looks like it's going to breach $1764 without a significant pullback, I think I'll pull the trigger and dump some more cash.
NYSE says it opens at 9.30am. http://corporate.nyx.com/en/holidays-and-hours/nyse Will there be anything happening before then?

Thanks fishball and midnight man, I have just met Yennus and silverbolt face to face and purchased the pandas from them P/s I'm new to all this and am interested in learning more about this market
I could see it hitting 2000 by the end of the year easy hope there's a bit of a drop back into the 15's, 16's so I can get more.
At this rate, it would be harder to own a 1oz dragon. so I'm hoping for the price to go down, down, the price are down!
our dollar is now 1.0128 9% of the increase in price of gold due to just our dollar weakening good for people holding who want to sell, bad for people wanting to buy surprised no one has said it so i will...GOLD TO DA MOON
