Very poor design and milk spotting are probably the reason this coin will not sell out for a long time. .
I would think that the main reason is people getting burned by the milk spot problem. There'd be many collectors who would be thoroughly pissed off and maybe turned off the 5oz coin for years to come unless a definitive and guaranteed solution is found to address the post-sale degradation of the coins.
Holy shit, the available quantity of the 5oz has INCREASED over the last few weeks. Up from 233 to 239 now:
I wish the US Mint would switch up designs like the Brittanias. The Brittanias are much more interesting and collectible.
The U.S. Mint does currently do that.....five times in a single year in fact....it's called the America The Beautiful series. .
I personally like the design, but never again shall I get one due to the milk spot problem. And THE AVAILABLE QUANTITY HAS INCREASED AGAIN!!!!! Its up to 246 this morning. Must be more milk-spotted returns
The 2015 5 oz proof Britannia is a piece of garbage design. If it was below the current spot, I might buy it. .
Twenty some odd pieces purchased...interesting. I wonder which will sell out first, the 2015 5 oz Britannia proof or the 2015 50 for 50 Jody Clark Britannia uncirculated coin? Care to make a wager there, SilverPete? .
