It really is a pivotal time in history...see this informative video: http://blip.tv/slowtv/mesopotamia-how-did-writing-begin-tony-sagona-6236895 .
On the packages in the following coins in the series will change only name of empire/civilization and image in the middle. Great that the boxes are wooden. I think that is right: Source: PC
Mint of Poland certainly seems to produce highly collectible coins and they pay attention to detail....I am so eager to get mine! .
I ordered mine from First Coin Co. already so I know I saved cash...that extra cash will be spent on other nice coins. .
That coin is first modern coin about Mesopotamia. Great movies about Mesopotamia:
There is picture of certificate available. What is important is numbered. On a second side we can see short story about first world civilization - Mesopotamia and description of the coin.
quite the hyped love fest the pair of you have going here. backslapping and thanking each other every step of the way in what has become a marketing thread.
Here's hoping everyone knows that, this thread is complete BS. Not even worth discussion until we get PHOTOS of the coin, and even then, it's a series riding on the success of another - dealers will ramp up the price and it will slowly depreciate in value for anyone who buys in.
Had similar problems with this being heavily pushed to me as well. I do appreciate the heads up from dealers on some stuff, but this has been over-done. Fortunately we have good relationships with the mint. Agree on the photos as well. I originally wanted to wait, but the coin started to appear everywhere. I would say however, that if anyone can make a great coin of this it's the Mint of Poland who are almost unparalleled in their ability.
I would only have such problems in life what you have got, guys. We wait for real picture and then we will evaluate this coin. No prophecies about the future price but this coin can make positively surprise.
I guess I'm one of those 500 people who "buys in" to this very low mintage coin. I agree with AgAuNews regarding the high quality of craftsmanship and production of the Mint of Poland. Therefore I'm convinced that I will be very impressed with my coin when I get it. Besides, I purchased it for the best price I could find anywhere from a USA dealer. I will post pics once I receive mine. .
I inquired about the coin series as a whole before I made my decision. It's suppose to be a long on going series spanning 8 coins over 8 years. I enjoy collecting over time as oppose to a series ending in a year or two. And theme appeals to me personally. Of course there is no guarantee the mint will follow through with their plans but at this point you can only take them for their word.
