It does look shiny (missing 'frosting'), but I think that they are still referrenced as 'black spots' right?
I didn't know that, I thought BSOD referred to a lack of silver/thinness in the plating process. I have never seen/held one in my hand, only pictures. So plating causes defect in the frosting to be shiny?
1) how good (accurate) is your scale? 2) assuming your scale is good, 30.8g is a tad light. I have never seen 1 troy oz silver coin come close to 32g (31.4 is the most I have seen) - and I'm excluding all the silver bullions/rounds, taking account only the canadian/australian/chinese coins. IMHO
Problem with keeping valuable coins in those flips is that contact mark(s) easily pass through the plastic/mylar. Besides what jc pointed out, those marks on the 91's arm and leg can be troublesome (if they are on the coin). I sent in a 91p which looked nicer, but came back only pf68. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but just giving you how I see it. The 89 and 94 look fine.
It's better to spend slightly more to buy a certified (PCGS/NGC) coin than getting screwed trying to buy a raw cheaply. It's hard to look at those photos to judge their authenticity. If someone is willing to sell those for a few hundred bucks, there's a good chance they are fakes.
Another 2000 mirror fake? 281012380635 I am 99.9% sure this is another Fake , it is a bad blurry picture but the to me the luster, top of the temple and date look wrong, and I believe the real 2000 mirrored have 4 pillars in the bottom row on each side of the stairs on the temple side , this looks to only have 3. I contacted the seller and for now I do NOT think this seller knows or believes this is a fake . Am I wrong on this???
Yep this seller took my advice looked into it and concluded the same thing , I truly believe he really did not know , then he was worried about his other coins but I gave my opinion that they look legit, this was the only high value one anyway. It is always nice when people do the right thing , too bad there are so many of these 2000 mirror fakes ! I would guess high quality fake slabs on these will be next , I hope I am wrong!
