Well, the history of the world is a history of invasion after invasion. Australia isn't special in that regard. It's not a big deal as you aren't (or shouldn't be) responsible for the actions of your ancestors. I'm not responsible for the actions of my father, never mind anyone further back.

At any rate, I'm a native of Britain. Where's my free British land that was stolen from my ancestors? Which invasion? Hang on let me just check...

If nobody questions (as the saying goes) German Taxpayers left the pension bill to compensate Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, why not also compensate the Aboriginal survivors and stolen generation (ONLY) for their grief, deprivation of liberty and displacement? Since many of the surviving Aboriginals never received a cent in compensation, why not at least forward the monies to descendants? Hell, the Israelis also received 'land' along with compensation, so it would be unfair to assume giving 'some' land back to Aboriginals would be suffice.

Well to my mind, as nugget pointed out above, the Aborigines were several nations. Some were conquered some werent. The ones that were conquered - tough luck. The ones that weren't own their land.
Melbourne was settled by one white family and the guns of one ship.
And the Aborigines ran for the hills.
    That family then owned Melbourne.

    It is an iffy area.
But I believe the Aborigines lived by the maxim too before evil whitey came and stole their eden.
You abandon your land to the conqueror you lose it.

Off topic is welcome in this thread, imo.

    Everyone must post on topic.

What do you people think this is? Posting off topic is frowned upon by the GP, the boss. You all should know that. Shame on all you who post off topic. What you have done is wrong.
