Now you can move the hedgehog market the way big banks manipulate the gold price :)

Just received my hedgehog from Paris coins! Eight days shipping from France to the US...not bad.

He looks so small and helpless. I think the Owl and Wolverine are going to eat him up...

Super fast shipping. My package from the Netherlands has already arrived in Vancouver via Germany. I can't wait to open up my package when UPS delivers it on Monday. Hopefully no unpleasant surprises.

Anyone planning to grade your Wolverine? Is this even possible?

I would never grade a non-circulating coin. Grading is subjective and there is a greater chance of it coming back a 69 or 68 than a 70. I doubt that it would increase the value much since there are only 2500. NGC and PGCS are making a killing on grading ASE's and other bullion and proof coins. The purpose in grading is to determine how close to mint a coin is. If a coin never leaves it's mint capsule then why get it graded?

Having said that, I'm sure it's possible to get it graded and some will show up eventually.

Looks like someone has been suckered into bidding on the $1500.00 chipped and scratched gulo gulo on ebay.

Not sure if that piece is chipped but I think the same seller put out a gulo that was said in the description that it is scratched at the back and no capsule. Then that item is gone and now the same seller put out a gulo with capsule. I guess we'd never know what happened here, if this is a different coin or just the same coin in a capsule.

I asked him about the condition of the coin and he was honest enough to tell me there was a small chip on it. He thought that it may be a manufacturing defect.

He said small chips along the side and a "light" scratch on the back.

Simply request high quality photos and judge by yourself. Maybe coin is not in bad shape at all...

He might be interpreting a planchet defect as a "chip". THis is not uncommon to someone who is not truely into collecting coins to not know the difference between post mint damage and damage that occurs during or prior to the minting/striking process. Also, the scratch that he could be seeing could be due to die polish lines or even a die crack. Once again, someone who is not trained in the art of numismatics will not know the difference.
