I will attend.. and have my beady eyes peeled for toned silver. Anyone who has toners to sell or swap, please PM with offers, notions and imagination so i can negotiate before the day. Bring out your dirty ones...........
I'll be there, and ditto to what Boyou said i.e. if you're selling I'm interested - 1kg bars: PAMPs or Perth Mints. Please PM before the day.
"January 22nd 2012 around 11.30 am at the terrace of West End Club, South Brisbane" (Projack's post, page 1). You have to come looking distinctive so that we recognise you. Skip, you've been allocated the pudding bowl haircut and Dame Edna rags.
haircut not required - already pudding bowl... hmm.. I just shaved so might be hard to pull of Dame Edna now.. hmm... see how I go. anyway - I will blow through early as I have a hot lunch date...
Put what your after/selling in here. thanks skipau http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-283722.html#p283722
Maybe something more subtle like just wearing a Sterling Silver Chain, I think ever SS must have access to a Silver Chain to wear tomorrow and chances are not too many other people will be wearing them. Be a discrete way of identifying fellow stacker's easy enough.
LOL ... I'll be the one with a couple of kilo bars swinging from my belt ... (no you'll never catch me wearing bling actually) See y'all tomorrow if you are recognizable!
Holy Moly just came from the Brisbane meet up..for all you Melbourne stackers if your wondering wether the rumours are true yes they are!! Brisbane stackers 'Don't wear no stinking name tags' They reckon were a bunch of uptight fairies for wearing them  I saw more beer consumed at the meet then New Years Eve at the rocks in Sydney!!!! Bull riding, arm wrestling, spit bucket comps--They thought that was for the Melbourne Sheila's Had a bit of trouble understanding them though with every second word ending in Ehhh!! Overall an excellent Meet and Greet, some very nice stackers. Thanks to all on the day Finally got to meet Projack in person(Man that dude has enough knowledge to fill a Bible!!) and after some hard negotiating i am financially backing him to produce The Silver Stackers "Purchasing PM's smart Bible" Meet VRS..Fellow SS sophisticate who could not love him i ask, definitely an introvert THUCYDIDES79---What a surprise i always mis took Mr THUCY for a retired coin dealer(He's a young one, deceptively masking his experience) Thanks to my tour guide Robert..there is absolutely no chance i would have found the meet without him!!Terrific stacker and super intelligent investor. G'day again to Corey..but in the name of Laura Bingles Where the bloody hell was Hiho?? They told me he passed out at the bar in the first hour and had to be escorted home by the Cops..Man they play hard and fast up there..No wonder the buggers are so good at Rugby Robotrader--Hellava nice guy Ag--Hellava nice guy Gone blank on the rest memory like a gold fish..See!!! should have been wearing your bloody name tags!!! In all seriousness great bunch of blokes, spent a nice afternoon talking the talk and some Sheit as well but that goes with the territory.Great to put faces to names, recommend the Brissie meet to any Mexicans who find themselves up North of the border. Cheers thanks Brisbane SS all the best REDBACK Yeah and Nedsnotdead defiantly a lively personality
Haha - Nice summary of the day Redback. SS out in force at the coin show. One of the dealers commented that we had a nice turnout on my way out. Nice meeting everyone!
*sigh* It's hard being a stacker and being up topside of the globe. Glad to hear a good time was had by all!
Will have to make the pilgrimage one day - have done Perth and Sydney so far, I thought Brisbane only had one or two stackers
It was a great day at the coin meet. Maybe there was around 15 of us there. Great that we have had interstate visitors. Met truevillan too
Very, very sad that I couldn't make it yesterday - plans unfortunately changed the day before, and beyond my control. Would like to have met up with more seasoned investors and put a few faces to names. *sigh* - next time. I'll keep an eye out for the next meet.
Did anyone actually buy anything at the coin show? I picked up a new McDonald's and some banknote pages and someone else picked up a 20z proof Kook from days gone by for about $3 above spot but most looked to be empty handed. A lot less drinking than usual, coffee not so great either and out of deference to the traders there wan't much trading going on except for the deals made before the meeting, not much for show and tell either? Good between-meetings meeting though!
Brought a couple of small silver antique pieces asked for a combined discount and received 28% off.so i thought that was a good discount from the trader as i would have paid the asking price anyway. Overall the prices were on a par with Dealers in Melbourne and most of what i was looking for(Limited to 4 lines) was to high for my purse but not overly shocking. VRS came in like a true professional and had the quilt sown up pretty quickly, maybe he should have given some of the dealers sales tips? REDBACK
