I like the Chinese lunar coins, especially dragons but for some reason this dragon is not very appealing :(

I'm with you on the design com, BUT, there are 1.8 billion people who live in the country of origin. So for this reason alone I will be buying this release, the fugly design will just make it easier for me to offload at a later date.

lol, well, I did type 1.3 at first and then I changed it to 1.8, you know, both have similar shapes and I couldn't remember the exact number. Anyway, there's a shitload of chinese...I would imagine we'd be looking at $120 at least.

    For a silver round

Kudos to you brother Fish. I'm kinda digging the design, especially the coloured ones (usually not my thing) but the non coloured are sweet too. Certainly not their weakest design I reckon they'd look pretty cool in the flesh. The obverse is organised chaos!! Generally I like clearer fields but sometimes change is not a bad thing, I'm willing to alter my viewpoint. I also like the swirls behind the coloured dragon, gives another sense of depth.

Would've liked to seen the mintages halved but Chinese coins are so hot they should sell out easily. Demand, demad, demand, mmm...shinys right on that, be nice to have a couple regardless of view :)

Who knows the place to get them before they all run out the door? Yennus??... fish?? Cx?? Anyone??

I could go and check some Chinese Gold Coin distributors and see if they have any stock when it's released...

Gotta be a ninja to buy them though, bet you they'll set out fast.

Are you thinking coinex pandaamerica or even apmex maybe? Pandaamerica still has 2011 Rabbits 1 oz silver coins for sale... it may take this release to spark the series back to life.

I was thinking of the ones in Hong Kong & Shenzhen, but I guess those work too.

    We'll see :D

Which ones are you guys planning to buy, the plum blossom or circle or fan shape?

    Very nice, fishball.

    Mucho gracias ;)

I'm at the point where I'm willing to pay some good money for these dragon coins. I have some money set aside at the moment for

    1. 2002 Pandas (only double bagged, they are soo liquid but it's a challenge to find them at a good price froma reputable dealer)
    2. 2010- 2011 Pandas ( great way to get Pandas and increase your Phyzz stack)
    3. 2009 Pandas (I have just one, it's pathetic, and IMO its the best looking Panda out there and it's gonna be the next 2002-2003 Panda very soon)
    4. Misc Lunars series 2 stuff, Perth Mint boxed Lunars (colour limited mintage coins, gilds, proof), etc

Now how can I squeeze this in? I might just settle for one coin, tuck it away for a few years and trade it in for a sports car or something, lol
