When were the SBA pieces typically made, assuming they're no longer in production. Love the look of that chunky plug!
An Australian Gold Refiners bar, possibly from 1987 to 1990 before the stamp was changed to include "Australian Gold Refiners" in words over "AGR" The attached document gives a nice history on AGR, JM, PM and a few other iconic Australian refiners. Love to hear any info on this one.
ABC 5oz RAM and BULL stamps. Anyone know where I can get info on ABC bars and coins? Allengalhard dosent seem to have anything
It almost looks like a cut down harrington 1 oz round. Does it weigh in at a full troy oz? Oh and I would up that offer to $110 if it does
I think i found out why ABC may not be lusted, among other reasons http://www.afr.com/business/mining/ato-chasing-208m-in-gold-windup-20160930-grrzml
Yes, National/ Matsushita/ Panasonic all under the same house. National is the old defunct brand that according to google, ceased to be used in Australia in 1988. That gives an idea to the age of the bar.
Just because we're on the topic of ABC, here's a little pendant they made quite a while ago (prob around the time of the gold one also) This one is 00.50oz - Can't bring myself to clean this little beauty....
Did Goldstackers accidentally sell me these two vintage 1981 DCL Harrington 1 kg silver bars as "generic low premium" bars?? I got them today. I'll explain the reason why I ask. Often when I go to GS I ask the person to bring out any unusual or unknown bars from their generic low premium second hand bars for me to look at. (coz sometimes I found some good ones) These two were among the bunch he brought out. I said I don't think I ever heard of DCL and so did he. So he googled it in front of me and we both found out it was Harrington. I immediately said I grab them and I proceeded to pay for my lot. Just then another GS worker came in who knows me coz I'm regular customer there and as we were saying hello to each other she looked down and noticed these two bars. She immediately turned to the guy and asked if he got these from the generic low premium section because she thought these were supposed to be auctioned off. He said he did. She asked him again are you sure? I said it's too late anyway coz they are mine now and was allowed to leave it at. I paid $810 each for them. Anyone know what they are roughly worth? I looked in the archives and found prices from $800 to $1,200+. As I originally asked - Did Goldstackers accidentally sell me these two vintage 1981 DCL Harrington 1 kg silver bars as "generic low premium" ??
not a specialist, but I would say you got a very good deal. I recently saw two bars of this weight sold on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Australia-H...045689?hash=item5b3595fbb9:g:7nMAAOSwuxFY3FSQ http://www.ebay.com/itm/silver-bull...015463?hash=item3ae50e3027:g:oMgAAOSw~FJZIgVD well done
