Just trying to show that life goes on without a cut-throat intention to gain at any cost. Simplistic it is not, it is probably just normality. Most people are of good character. How going to a dealer and buying off a price list can be considered misleading, I don't know. Please explain!
^^ This assumes metal is always bought from a mint/dealer, and that price subsequently always rises. I may be mistaken, but I would consider this view simplistic and misleading.
Still completely missing the point you seem to be trying to make :/ Edit: Sorry ignore. I only just saw your post #55. This thread expanded fast.
Am I missing something here? In your world is there just the one ounce of silver that gets sold on and on? The stacker circle I frequent is constantly buying new silver to increase their stack. This was my example. As to whether prices rise or drop, it's irrelevant as there is no third party. You appear to be hell bent on questioning the morality of stackers; please articulate the values and ethics that have been transgressed in this immoral act.
Not hell bent on questioning the morality of stackers at all. Initially just questioning the difference between feeling delight for someone's loss on silver, and feeling delight for someone's gain - it is a very thin line IMO, because they are not mutually exclusive. The simple win-win scenario, as portrayed in the mint example above, is not a true portrayal of the physical silver market, but one that a lot of stackers feel more comfortable believing, and thus (either conciously or unconciously) approving as acceptable.
I dont understand why anyone is upset if another member finds joy or not because you bought at a higher price and it is now worth less. Let them have their enjoyment, who cares. To me, if anyone takes offence to it, its just saying your insecure about the reasons you bought silver in the first place. It would have to be a very un-informed stacker who didnt realise that there is always downside risk to buying silver. Besides that, a loss on paper is NOT the same as selling your silver at a loss. You dont have any profit/loss until you sell. If you owned 50oz before the price drop, you still own 50oz after. Wait until silver goes to the moon You wont be able to shut the silver bulls up from braging about the "win". I bet there are some members here sitting on 500-1000kg of silver but you never hear of the paper wins or losses. They are comfortable with the reasons they invested in silver and couldnt care less about all the noise in the market or about some member having a little personal fun and stirring up the weak hands and watching them fall over each other defending their decision to buy silver. Im certainly not a major holder of silver but the small amount I can buy when ever I can is because of very real reasons that I see and until I see real changes in the world of finance and banking, I will continue to hold onto those reasons as fact, regardless of price dropping or increasing or what MSM may be saying. As for being jealous about americains, who wouldnt be? They have a constitution that protects each persons rights, they have the opportunity to protect that constitution and need to right now! Will enough of the people stand up for what is right as set out in that constitution? Considering most dont understand what is written or their individual obligation to do everything to maintain their rights, only time will tell. The american government is not the same thing as the americain people though.
what a little drama queen bamaboy The forum will be a better place without all the negativity he was spreading around. no need to start a thread that we are losing the most negative person on the forum. Nobody cares except you so suit yourself
Why do you do this, and then have to make sure everyone knows it was a mistake? You do it over and over again... It's like "so what?" Maybe the "thanks" button means that much to you.
Opinions are like a fart, no one wants to hear them. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut from now on. :| At least I'm gonna try.
Pretty sure you're logical, smart and rational enough to figure out the purpose and etiquette of the thanks button by yourself even if you're not capable of answering direct questions. I think you should probably "stick to silver talk...some people clearly can't handle a discussion". C'mon, you promised.
Yeah, it seems Barmy guy made quite an impact by his presence here, most particularly with his exit. Probably his finest moment and his best post ever. I guess, ironically, with this final stand, he has now achieved his goal of being taken seriously. Kind of sad really. A bit of a Van Gogh type of story, his towering greatness only being recognized after he had gone.
 He's an habitual thanker. If it wasn't for bordie I'd only get thanked by Lucky Luke. Thanks bordie
