Great idea. A fake 1oz gold bullion round etc, would set you back 2 of these machines.

It is true this is not infallible as it uses electricity to measure conductivity similar to a metal detector as was said here low conductive items can pass as gold though I would think this and a set of good scales and measurements of coins etc would make it near infallible so it would be in conjunction with 2 other items do very well as a cheap option against 99% of fakes so yep great stuff, still won't do 9K etc and that's a shame and near on impossible without XRF.

but if you are just buying 999 coins I reckon with the other 2 cheap tools its a winner on pure metals :)

Just picked mine up at the post office
    [IMG]

comes in a nice little carrying case, along with battery charger for both wall and computer hook-up
I am just testing it out
Happy to see that all my Morgans are the real deal !!! (not that I wasn't sure they were)

It is a little touchy on the smaller coins, fractionals, does not seem to register through the airtites,
even with the small probe that attaches

maybe I am doing something wrong

Just learning how to use it's functions, so this is just a first post
all in all, it does seem to do the job, I need more time with it

you will have to get in touch with Nate
but the link I provided shows in US$
shipping will depend on Australia costs

from the link: all in US$
shipped pricing is to the US only

    Basic Unit
This is the Verifier itself without any wands. With this you can test naked (or in a bag) coins down to 27mm in diameter (roughly 1/2 oz and larger) and slabbed coins down to 30mm in diameter (basically 1 oz and larger). You can test standard 1 oz and larger bars. Remember that the metal you are testing with the built-in sensor has to cover a 27mm circle for an accurate reading, so most fractional and poured bars will be too small.

    List Price $625 + $15 Shipping = $640
Group Buy Price = $530 Shipped

    Basic Kit
This is the Verifier plus the small & large wands. With this you can test down to 25mm diameter (roughly 1/2 oz, some 1/4 oz) in a slab using the large wand, and you can test naked (or in a bag) fractional pieces down to little 1 gram bars and rounds with the small wand. With the wands you can also easily flip through a coin album and test each piece without removing and handling them, and you can locate a clean, flat spot on a poured bar to test it.

    List Price $719 + $15 Shipping = $734
Group Buy Price = $610 Shipped

    Bullion Kit
This is the Verifier plus the small & large wands plus the bullion wand. With the bullion wand you can test gold and silver samples at least 4mm thick and platinum and palladium at least 6mm thick. The bullion wand measures deeper into the metal to overcome things like deep stamping and rough surfaces on poured bars. This is the best way to test larger bars.

    List Price $889 + $15 Shipping = $904
Group Buy Price = $750 Shipped

Please let us know your results after having tried it out on various precious metals products.

    Thanks.

Clearly, putting the indicator setting to the correct purity of metal before putting the coin/round on the sensor is key in determining whether it is likely real or not.

I'm interested in one of these but its a tuff choice between 50oz silver or this. It seems like it will pay itself off in the end as long as it remains reliable. I want to test my pre 33 gold coins! How long do you think till cheaper models drop?
