Come to think of it yes, I think he's exaggerating with that 98% figure.

The thing that I don't like about Bob Chapman is that he loves to speak highly of himself and put others down. That really takes away from his stature.

I agree . Ignore what Bob says at your own peril. Exit the silver market and enter the potato market. Potato had increase 103% since 2010.
I think we should Stack Potato. I am going to buy some potato chips because potato is going to explode too ;)

He is (officially) retired and does this to get the information out (at no cost or guarantee to you).
He makes money from his newsletters too.

    http://theinternationalforecaster.com/Bob_Chapman

He has stated he doesn't really need the money and I believe him. His experience speaks for itself. It's easy for people to (in my opinion, nitpick) the 98% figure or dissect every little thing he says and extrapolate that, but I don't sweat the little things. I think he gives out a lot of good info. At his age I dunno how he keeps up with himself. I'd probably be dead.

I'm not a big fan of the way some hosts hold their interviews with him (or the sound quality of some of them), so some interviews can get boring. But I don't rely on someone to hand-hold me in my investments or take away any risk or go by what any single person says exclusively. I use his information as a very good guide about what's happening in the world and make my own decisions. That said he's not far wrong on the topics he speaks about.

I don't subscribe to his newsletter either, I try to put pieces together from many 'experts' who I think are honest and take it from there.

My conclusion from the thread is that this guy's advice is worth less than a potato.

To be serious for a minute, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you all to take physical delivery of your potatoes. Paper potato will be utterly useless when we enter the SHTF stage. Remember that it's only a matter of time before the SPUDEX defaults and is unable to deliver on physical potato, you don't want to be left holding worthless potato certificates.

Take my advice and stack dehydrated instant mashed potato, this saves up to 78% on storage space.

Buy an ounce of potato and Smash the SPUDEX!!!

some one is after his life, he stays alive.

The journalist was paid to make up the story, we can corner the writer and check on his related person's bank ac! Probably the ac was closed due to liquidation of banks

    Its an info terror.

Bob Chapman tried to sell me a phony Rolex for $35 on a Mexican golf course.
As I moved away I found his hand was in my pocket trying to grab my wallet.
My caddy struck him with a 3-iron and cursed him out in Spanish.
It seems Mr. Chapman is not fluent in the language.

I never really believed Bob Chapman, even when I was blindly riding the silver hype train. He just seems to sensationalize things. The fact is he was dead wrong about silver going past in such a short time frame and that isn't nitpicking.

    Nub,

You mentioned that you were blindly riding the silver hype train. Have you got off? Although we don't need to get into hype, I don't think that this small setback should make us change our long term position at all, do you?

Yeah I got off, I still have a few coins that I will never sell (I like them too much). I am an investor (not a SHTF'er) so I took profits while I was still ahead and swapped when the GSR was around 38. I what is the point of holding a stack that is depreciating in value when I could sell high and buy low later and accumulate more silver in the long run, provided the market continues its uptrend.
