"You can't use silver to buy a loaf of bread."

Sure. But in a world heading towards negative interest rates, gold and silver are an alternative to cash term deposits at the point when the rate of value destruction of cash exceeds the holding costs of PMs.

Regularly flip some silver/gold for cash and you're good.

If your bar of silver is large and heavy enough, you can use it to 'obtain' a loaf of bread.

"Excuse me sir. Is that a loaf of bread you're carrying?"

    "Why yes, it is."

A big bunch of silver coins in a bag is the more traditional method ;)

Bet it won't be so popular in strip clubs though. Imagine a lap dancer with 20oz of Ag in her gusset.

If you were in Thailand, there'd be a 20oz surprise in her gusset already.

Are we far enough off topic yet?

As it stands, the inverse is also true.

I found it difficult to buy silver with loaves of bread too.

Go to Zimbabwe, US$, GOLD OR SILVER will buy you a loaf of bread...1 gram gold = 1 loaf of bread or 2 ozs silver. or 10 trillion Zimbabwe dollar..

I think maybe the strippers here in NZ must allow silver and somehow store it in their breasts, that would explain why they are all saggy.
After seeing strip clubs on tv my first visit in real life was such a let down.
The girls that were not overweight had all clearly had kids as i had never seen so many stretch marks in my life.

Here in the suburban ghetto, we bake bread (whole wheat of course). Positive investment with every bake. No fluff bread. No soy flour. No sugar. No GMOs or toxic additives. 2.4KG loaf with every bake. Decentralise, bitches.

The bread is a far better investment than silver.

I once bought a breadmaker. One of those 'chuck everything in a push a button' jobbies.

It wasn't very successful, breaking before I had enough to build a retaining wall in the garden with the bricks it produced.
