So they'll seize all your assets, house and all physical possessions but let you use the WiFi to access your crypto??
Having gold in a time of crisis like war, famine, economy collapse ect have been used for millennium to barter/sell for supplies, weapons, food and security and safe passage and will be used for ever to come. Example. 2 people wanting to buy a safe passage to another country but both had no cash on them for the trip but one had a 1 oz gold bar or coin and the other had the same amount of cash but it is in crypto currency but access to it is down due to no internet. Who would you choose to take?
I read the above post out of context to this thread, however, thanks for that info anyway. I find it analogous to much in life and certainly worth a moment of thought.
Thought shiney would of said something by now lol. And in a crises do you think every one will have a bitcoin wallet to exchange funds... no they won't. And bitcoin nearly halving its worth last week goes to show its to unstable..
^ probably because I don't find the topic very relevant to me. I don't base my investment decisions upon the likelihood of a world war occurring.
As I see it if it was a WW3 scenario Bitcoin will be worth sweet fk all. It will be hectic with millions and millions of dumb founded dipshits running around. I would rather gold over crypto for sure when the shit hits the fan.
I would hopefully be on the front line living the last days fast, guns and cigarettes blazing lol. Certainly rather be dead or in action than in my hole with my rice and freeze dried food and gold shavings. In EOW scenario I suspect that being well networked, useful and a likeable character will get you further than anything else. It’s a common trait among stackers to fetishise end-of-world scenarios, as I suppose this is both an adequate internal AND external justification for going against the herd. Especially as friends and family can look down on this kind of insurance/investment. It also gives many a sense of superiority, that you are smarter than the sheeple. I understand but do not share these traits and ideas, but I also don’t claim to have better. People are just unique in what makes them comfortable in the world. Finally btw, there is no such phrase as ‘mute point’. It is ‘moot point’. I think I was also caught out by that once.
You can always hang around the front lines at the EOW scenario and correct everyone’s grammar @heartastack
You're absolutely right. Mostly my contributions are are on the fly and I rarely check for typos etc. That was just the spelling that came to me while typing my response.
If it keeps me alive, which I’m sure it wouldn’t!! Even I hate ‘grammar Nazis’.. but phrases are more useful/enlightening to understand sometimes.
If WW3 goes the way I suspect it will, all I will want is a piece of non-precious lead with a diameter of 9mm so I could eat it.
