The Royal Mint rightly claims the SOV to be “The Chief Coin of the World”. But the world has (temporarily) forgotten about gold and mintages of Sovs have dropped by a factor of 200+ compared to last century. My point is that when the next “gold fever” strikes (which it must) the current “QE2 Sovs” will be the rarest of them all. For example. instead of producing 10 - 20 million Sovs per year, in 2018 the Royal Mint only offered these Sovs (exchange rate used is 0.5515): https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/ranges/sovereign/ 2018 SOVS / Mintage / Price (GBP) / Price (AUD) 5 SOV / 1,000 / 1,895 / $3,436 2 SOV / 2,750 / 815 / $1,478 1 SOV / 13,350 / 445 / $807 HALF SOV / 5,100 / 250 / $453 3 COIN SET (3.5 Sov total) / / 1,475 / $2,675 Getting down to business, I have for sale these QE2 PROOF SOVS: QE2 PROOF SOVS / Mintage / My Price 1985 Half Sov / 9,951 / $240 - SOLD! 2000 Half Sov (boxed) / 7,500 / $240 -SOLD! 2000 Half Sov – SLABBED PCGS MS68 / / $280 -SOLD! 1979 Full Sov / 50,000 / $445 1981 Full Sov / 32,960 / $445 1982 Full Sov (boxed) / 20,000 / $450 1985 Full Sov / 11,393 / $445 - SOLD! 1985 FIVE Sov / 5,849 / $2,195 1980 3 COIN SET (2 boxes! no coa) / / $1,580 1983 3 COIN SET (yes box no coa) / / $1,580 *1986 3 COIN SET (3 coins in capsules) / / $1,580 1987 3 COIN SET (yes box yes coa) / / $1,585 - SOLD!
