would it be crazy to not trade a roll of silver american eagles for (2) 1/4 oz gold canadian maple leafs?

id say a roll of american eagles is worth about 840-860 dollars or so retail, how much are 2 1/4 oz gold coins worth? maybe 900-920?

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
    So it's speculate or accumulate.
Hold either a long time and they will be worth a lot. Personally I like both.
Split the roll and split the pair.

Current price for 1/4 gold maple = $474 US. You do the math...

I'd take the maple leafs immediately. Those are going for around $480 each on eBay and from retailers.

    Roll of eagles about $860-880
    2 x 1/4 Gold Maples $940-960

From a trading perspective, it looks like you come out ahead. Plus you could always sell one or both of the maples and likely buy back more eagles than you started with.
