Just got a UK 1949 two shillings in my change out of a drink machine. I'm pretty sure it's worth more than 20c. Does anyone know much about these?

    Worth about 20c.

UK dropped silver from their coins in 1947. Something about paying for a war :)

Going by the calculator at the top of the SS home page, it is worth $5.22 and there is .18 oz ASW in that coin.

    A nice little earner!

    Regards Errol 43

Sorry GP is right.. Missed the UK bit.
