Yes - for my 1 allocated roll of coins. To much hype and interest in the coin not to roll the dice on this one IMO and at the end of the day its still silver at a not too obscene price if the premium play doesn't work out.

Even if the premium seems excessive, the re-sale value one day should easily cover that premium.

Don't see why not, spot is spot, nothing to do with dragons.

How many dragons is another matter entirely.

I don't buy anything from the Perth Mint.

Not happy about registering my name and address etc with them for later use by the guvmint. I would rather pay a little more, (yes $50 plus) to Joe Blow via Silver Stackers in an anonymous F2F transaction.

Paranoid maybe, but I NEVER trust the guvmint, if they were desperate they woiuld just pass a law and knock on my door.

But don't the Perth mint sell their bullion coins $10 above spot?

I think the Dragons are over hyped but I also think that they are a good investment so if $50+ fair premium is what it takes then that is what I will pay.

Having worked for the government I am pretty sure they do not have the capacity or the organisational skills to be able to get it together enough to co-ordinate raids on known silver hoarders.

Having said that, Government employees are more than likely to take the information and use it for burglary.

    Sounds paranoid?

check out the book Smuggled http://www.smuggled.com/s1rev1.htm .

New South Wales government officials insisted that all pet reptiles had to be registered.

Then they raided the registered premises while the owners were out and stole to order, smuggling most of the reptiles overseas through their friends in customs.

Apologies to any government officials on this site but when large amounts of money are involved it is better to be cautious.

Yes... so regardless of what spot is, dragons will be spot + $10.

Spot of $50, $60, $100 doesn't matter. I will still buy some, depends how many.

Yes, and further to this... if you looking to buy silver legal tender bullion on the first.. you might as well get the dragons cos the kooks and koalas will cost you the exact same amount..

We are all used to $50 silver.. half the silver i buy is over $50 per ounce.. Im happy to pay whatever.. silver is still really underpriced and paper money is looking more and more fickel by the day.. if we all loose trust in paper money it will be worth = ZERO

The spot price to me is irrelevant - - > its the premium over spot that I'll be making my dragon purchase decision on.

I'll buck the trend and say "no".

    1. I don't buy from perth mint for same reason as Old Codger.
    2. Spot is about $42aud, dragons come out in just over a week. If spot rises $8 in as many days, I'm probably just going to chill out and watch from the sidelines. :)

p.s. I already have 2 rolls supposedly pre-ordered but my dealer has not answered my email checkup from last week...so probably means I'll be getting no dragons :( maybe someone here will sell me a couple for my collection.

I wanted some gold dragons, but I may not be buying any of them either with spot this high (relatively quickly), stuff it. I'll probably buy some knives instead. :)

Yep - as a collector and investor I don't see much downside in getting as many of these as possible.

Yes ... nice to add to the collection plus possible numismatic premium in future. :)

Yes I will buy if spot is over $50 but how much over will determine how much to buy. I like the collector side of things as well as the stack side.
I would much prefer to stack Perth Mint items than anything else.
