Firstly, because this trade doesn't feel balanced: Secondly, because this one certainly doesn't. Fortunately my feelings don't dictate the GSR, so I get to keep buying 73 ounces of the white stuff for every ounce of the yellow. I also know that feelings shouldn't dictate my investments, and they don't. But it still makes me happy that that I get real weight in my silver for "an ounce of gold" money.

Because silver has dropped so much since the 2011 peak, I initially read the thread title as Why am I overweight silver. Luker, I don't think that chart you posted is valid anymore. From 2010-to date, there have been a billion ounces of silver coins/bars made.
